Italy at the Men's T20 World Cup

The Italy national cricket team is one of the associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), they are nicknamed as Gli Azzurri. The team is administered by the Italian Cricket Federation, which became an affiliate member in 1984, and were granted associate member status in 1995. They are set to make their debut at the T20 World Cup with their appearance in the 2026 edition, having finished as runners-up at the 2025 Europe Regional Final. This will also mark their first appearance in a major ICC tournament. [1] [2]

Ahead of their maiden campaign, Joe Burns, who had led the side to T20 World Cup qualification, was excluded from the squad due to availability issues, and the captaincy was handed to Wayne Madsen. [3]
