Japan will compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from 6 to 22 February 2026, it will be the nation's 23rd appearance at the Winter Olympic Games, since 1928, except 1948, due to nation's role in World War II.

Japan has qualified one female and one male alpine skier through the basic quota so far. [1] [2]
Japan has qualified one female and one male cross-country skier through the basic quota so far. [3] Following the completion of the 2024–25 FIS Cross-Country World Cup, Japan has qualified further two female and two male athletes. [4]
In the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, the United States, Japan secured three quota in each of the men's singles, three quota in each of the women's singles, and one quota in each of the pair skating. [5]
