The Turkvision Song Contest, also known as the Türkvizyon Song Contest, has been a recurring song contest created by Turkish music channel TMB TV, inspired by the format of the Eurovision Song Contest. The first edition took place in Eskişehir, Turkey in December 2013. Countries and regions which were Turkic-speaking and of Turkic ethnicity are eligible to participate in the song contest. The contest was last held on 20 December 2020 as an online event hosted from Istanbul, Turkey. Several cancellations followed, and the future of the Turkvision Song Contest remains uncertain.

Twenty-four Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, participated in the contest. The semi-final took place on 19 December 2013, while the final took place on 21 December 2013.
The participation of the Altai Republic in the Turkvision Song Contest first began at the inaugural Turkvision Song Contest, in Eskişehir, Turkey, in 2013. STRC Altai Mountains, a network owned by All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK), have been responsible for the selection process of their participants, since their debut in 2013. Artur Marlujokov was the first representative for the Altai Republic at the Turkvision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Altayym Menin", which qualified from the semifinals, and finished in fifth place, achieving one-hundred and eighty-nine points in the grand final.
The participation of Azerbaijan in the Turkvision Song Contest first began in Eskişehir, Turkey, at the inaugural edition of the Turkvision Song Contest in 2013. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) have been responsible for the selection process of their participants, since their debut in 2013. Farid Hasanov was the first representative for Azerbaijan at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Yaşa", which qualified from the semifinals and won the contest, achieving two-hundred and ten points in the grand final. Azerbaijan continued to participate in the contest, and sent Elvin Ordubadli as their representative in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014, with the song "Divlərin yalnızlığı", which finished in ninth place, achieving 177 points in the grand final.
Bashkortostan has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest twice since its debut in 2013. The Bashkir broadcaster, Kuray Television (KTV),was the organiser of the Bashkir entry from 2013 to 2014, in 2015 Tugan Tel TV replaced Kuray Television. In 2013, Bashkortostan's first entry at Turkvision, Diana Ishniyazova, failed to qualify to the grand final.
Crimea has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest twice since its debut in 2013. The Crimean broadcaster, Crimea Public Radio and Television (CPRT), has been the organiser for the Crimean entry since its debut in the contest. In 2013, Crimea's first entry at Turkvision, Elvira Sarihalil, failed to qualify for the grand final.
Ukraine were one of the twenty-four participating countries and regions competing in the first Turkvision that took place between 17 and 21 December 2013.

Tatarstan has competed in the Turkvision Song Contest three times. The region debuted in the inaugural 2013 contest, and hosted the 2014 contest in Kazan. Tatarstan did not participate in 2015, though they returned in 2020. Apart from the 2020 contest, Tatarstani broadcaster Maidan Television (MTV) has always organised a national final to select their entry.
Northern Cyprus is one of the twenty-four participating countries and regions competing in the Turkvision Song Contest.
Gagauzia has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest three times since its debut in 2013. The Moldovan broadcaster, Gagauz Radio Television (GRT), has been the organiser of the Gagauz entry since its debut in the contest. In 2013, Gagauzia's first entry at Turkvision, Ludmila Turkan, failed to qualify for the grand final.
Kabardino-Balkaria were one of the twenty-four participating countries and regions competing in the first Turkvision Song Contest. Despite being two separate republics, they sent a joint competitor in 2013, to represent the both of them.
Khakassia is one of the participating countries and regions competing in the Turkvision Song Contest.
The Turkvision Song Contest 2014 was the second edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Kazan in the region of Tatarstan. Twenty-four Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, confirmed their participation, making it the largest contest exceeding the participation number for the 2013 contest whereas four European countries made their debut. Altai Republic, Belarus, Kemerovo, Kosovo, and Northern Cyprus withdrew from the contest. The semi final took place on 19 November 2014 and the final took place on 21 November 2014. The presenters of the contest were Artem Shalimov, Narmin Agaeva, and Ranil Nuriov.
The debut of Russia in the Turkvision Song Contest was originally announced as taking place at the Turkvision Song Contest 2013. However, upon the publication of the finalised participation list, Russia no longer appeared as taking part. Although, several Federal subjects of Russia, have competed in the Turkvision Song Contest ever since its inaugural contest in 2013.
The Turkvision Song Contest 2015 was the third edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey; and organised by Turkish Music Box Television (TMB). A total of twenty-one Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, participated in the contest, as well as one Turkic ethnic groups who do not have a defined region. There was no semi-final this year, whilst the final took place on 19 December 2015.
Bala Turkvision Song Contest 2015 was the first edition of the Bala Turkvision Song Contest. It was initially scheduled to take place in Mary, Turkmenistan, however, it was moved to Istanbul, Turkey. The contest is the junior equivalent of the Turkvision Song Contest; similar to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest being the younger equivalent of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Azerbaijan participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 which took place in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Azerbaijan placed 9th with 177 points.
Azerbaijan participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2015 which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Mehman Tağıyev won the national final, Azerbaycan`ın Sesi, on 29 September, earning the right to represent Azerbaijan in the contest. On 8 October, his song, "Istanbul" was internally selected. Azerbaijan placed 7th with 155 points.
Kazakhstan participated in and won the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. "Izin kórem", performed by Zhanar Dugalova, was selected as the Kazakhstani entry for the contest in a national final.
