History

2013

Turkey made their debut in the Turkvision Song Contest at the 2013 festival, in Eskişehir, Turkey. [1] Manevra were internally selected by TRT TV representatives to represent Turkey, [2] their song was revealed on 16 December 2014 as "Sen, Ben, Biz". [3] In the semi-final in Eskişehir, Turkey performed 23rd and qualified for the final, in the final they performed 1st and came in 6th place with 187 points tied with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

2014

On 20 July 2014 it was announced that Turkey would make their second appearance at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 to be held in Kazan, Tatarstan in November 2014. [4] On 3 September 2014, TMB TV made a call for submissions for singers to take part in the contest in Kazan. [5] On 22 October 2014 it was announced that Funda Kılıç would represent Turkey, [6] on 12 November 2014 it was announced that Funda would sing "Hoppa". [7]

In Kazan, Funda performed 15th in the semi-final, before Bosnia and Herzegovina and after Yakutia, Turkey came 2nd with a total of 199 points. In the final Turkey performed 1st, they finished last in 15th place with 128 points.

The participation of Azerbaijan in the Turkvision Song Contest first began in Eskişehir, Turkey, at the inaugural edition of the Turkvision Song Contest in 2013. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) have been responsible for the selection process of their participants, since their debut in 2013. Farid Hasanov was the first representative for Azerbaijan at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Yaşa", which qualified from the semifinals and won the contest, achieving two-hundred and ten points in the grand final. Azerbaijan continued to participate in the contest, and sent Elvin Ordubadli as their representative in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014, with the song "Divlərin yalnızlığı", which finished in ninth place, achieving 177 points in the grand final.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bashkortostan in the Turkvision Song Contest</span>

Bashkortostan has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest twice since its debut in 2013. The Bashkir broadcaster, Kuray Television (KTV),was the organiser of the Bashkir entry from 2013 to 2014, in 2015 Tugan Tel TV replaced Kuray Television. In 2013, Bashkortostan's first entry at Turkvision, Diana Ishniyazova, failed to qualify to the grand final.

Belarus has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 3 times since its debut in 2013. Details regarding the Belarusian broadcaster which organises Belarus' entry are unknown. In 2013, Belarus' first entry at Turkvision, Gunesh Abasova, qualified from the semi-final, and placed 2nd in the final achieving 205 points.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest four times since its debut in 2013. The Bosnian broadcaster, Hayat TV, has been the organiser of the Bosnian entry since its debut in the contest. In 2013, the Bosnian entry, Ters Bosanka, qualified to the grand final, where they finished in sixth place with a score of 187 points.

Apart from the 2020 contest, Tatarstani broadcaster Maidan Television (MTV) has always organised a national final to select their entry.

The broadcaster continued its participation as the Iraqi Turkmen community solely, rather than the entirety of Iraq, for the 2020 contest.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Turkvision Song Contest 2014</span> 2nd Turkvision Song Contest

The Turkvision Song Contest 2014 was the second edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Kazan in the region of Tatarstan. Twenty-four Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, confirmed their participation, making it the largest contest exceeding the participation number for the 2013 contest whereas four European countries made their debut. Altai Republic, Belarus, Kemerovo, Kosovo, and Northern Cyprus withdrew from the contest. The semi final took place on 19 November 2014 and the final took place on 21 November 2014. The presenters of the contest were Artem Shalimov, Narmin Agaeva, and Ranil Nuriov.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bulgaria in the Turkvision Song Contest</span>

Bulgaria has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest twice since their debut in the 2014 contest, held in Kazan, Tatarstan. Bulgarian broadcaster Alfa Media (AMTV) organised the Bulgarian entry in its debut year. In 2014, Bulgaria's first entry at Turkvision was İsmail Matev.

Azerbaijan participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 which took place in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Elvin Ordubadli won the national final, Azərbaycan`ın Sesi, on 21 September with the song "Divlərin yalnızlığı", earning the right to represent Azerbaijan in the contest. Azerbaijan placed 9th with 177 points.

Tatarstan hosted and participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan. The song "Atlar çaba", performed by Aydar Suleymanov, was selected as the Tatarstani entry for the contest in a national final.

Turkey participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Turkish broadcaster TRT Avaz was responsible for the country's participation in the contest. The song "Hoppa", performed by Funda Kılıç, was internally selected as the Turkish entry for the contest. The song qualified from the semi-final and placed 15th (last) in the final.
