History

2013

North Macedonia, then known as "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", made their debut in the Turkvision Song Contest at the 2013 contest in Eskişehir, Turkey. [1] İkay Yusuf was internally selected to represent Macedonia in Turkey, it was originally announced that he would sing "Ağlama Benim İçin", [2] however it was later announced he would sing "Düşlerde Yaşamak." At the semi-final of Turkvision 2013 Macedonia performed 17th but failed to qualify for the final.

2014

North Macedonia once again participated in the 2014 contest in Kazan, Tatarstan. Kaan Mazhar was internally selected as the Macedonian participant for the contest. [3] It was announced on 27 October 2014 that Kaan would sing "Yolumu Bulurum" in Kazan., [4] the song was officially present on 12 November 2014.

In the semi-final Macedonia were drawn to perform 23rd after Romania and before Khakassia, Kaan scored a total of 181 points and finished 7th bringing Macedonia to their first final. In the final Macedonia performed 13th and finished in 14th place with 166 points.

The Turkvision Song Contest, also known as the Türkvizyon Song Contest, has been a recurring song contest created by Turkish music channel TMB TV, inspired by the format of the Eurovision Song Contest. The first edition took place in Eskişehir, Turkey in December 2013. Countries and regions which were Turkic-speaking and of Turkic ethnicity are eligible to participate in the song contest. The participation of the Altai Republic in the Turkvision Song Contest first began at the inaugural Turkvision Song Contest, in Eskişehir, Turkey, in 2013. STRC Altai Mountains, a network owned by All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK), have been responsible for the selection process of their participants, since their debut in 2013. Artur Marlujokov was the first representative for the Altai Republic at the Turkvision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Altayym Menin", which qualified from the semifinals, and finished in fifth place, achieving one-hundred and eighty-nine points in the grand final.

The participation of Azerbaijan in the Turkvision Song Contest first began in Eskişehir, Turkey, at the inaugural edition of the Turkvision Song Contest in 2013. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) have been responsible for the selection process of their participants, since their debut in 2013. Farid Hasanov was the first representative for Azerbaijan at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Yaşa", which qualified from the semifinals and won the contest, achieving two-hundred and ten points in the grand final. Azerbaijan continued to participate in the contest, and sent Elvin Ordubadli as their representative in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014, with the song "Divlərin yalnızlığı", which finished in ninth place, achieving 177 points in the grand final.

Bashkortostan has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest twice since its debut in 2013. The Bashkir broadcaster, Kuray Television (KTV),was the organiser of the Bashkir entry from 2013 to 2014, in 2015 Tugan Tel TV replaced Kuray Television. In 2013, Bashkortostan's first entry at Turkvision, Diana Ishniyazova, failed to qualify to the grand final.

The Turkvision Song Contest 2014 was the second edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Kazan in the region of Tatarstan. Twenty-four Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, confirmed their participation, making it the largest contest exceeding the participation number for the 2013 contest whereas four European countries made their debut. Altai Republic, Belarus, Kemerovo, Kosovo, and Northern Cyprus withdrew from the contest. The semi final took place on 19 November 2014 and the final took place on 21 November 2014. The presenters of the contest were Artem Shalimov, Narmin Agaeva, and Ranil Nuriov.

Albania has participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 3 times since their debut in the 2014 contest in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) have been responsible for the selection process of their participants since their debut in 2014. Xhoi Bejko was the first representative for Albania at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Hava ve Ates", which failed to qualify from the semi-finals, finishing in nineteenth place and achieving 154 points. Albania continued to participate in the contest, and sent Xhoi Bejko and Visar Rexhepi as their representatives in the Turkvision Song Contest 2015, with the song "Adi Hasret", which finished in eighth place, receiving the same total of points as in their previous participation.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Turkvision Song Contest 2015</span> 3rd Turkvision Song Contest

The Turkvision Song Contest 2015 was the third edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey; and organised by Turkish Music Box Television (TMB). A total of twenty-one Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, participated in the contest, as well as one Turkic ethnic groups who do not have a defined region. There was no semi-final this year, whilst the final took place on 19 December 2015.

Azerbaijan participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2013 which took place in Eskişehir, Turkey. Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Farid Hasanov won the national final, Turkvision Milli Seçim Turu, on 22 November with the song "Sənsiz", earning the right to represent Azerbaijan in the contest. It was revealed at the contest that the song Hasanov would be performing would be called "Yaşa". Azerbaijan won the contest with 210 points.

Kazakhstan participated in and won the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. "Izin kórem", performed by Zhanar Dugalova, was selected as the Kazakhstani entry for the contest in a national final.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Turkvision Song Contest 2020</span> 4th Turkvision Song Contest

The Turkvision Song Contest 2020 was the fourth edition of the Turkvision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, with performances filmed remotely, and organised by Turkish Music Box Television.

Turkey participated in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. Turkish broadcaster TRT Avaz was responsible for the country's participation in the contest. The song "Hoppa", performed by Funda Kılıç, was internally selected as the Turkish entry for the contest. The song qualified from the semi-final and placed 15th (last) in the final.
