Mount Williamson, at an elevation of 14,379 feet (4,383 m), is the second-highest mountain in both the Sierra Nevada range and the state of California, and the sixth-highest peak in the contiguous United States.
North Palisade is the third-highest mountain in the Sierra Nevada range of California, and one of the state's small number of peaks over 14,000 feet, known as fourteeners. Mount Sill is one of the fourteeners of the Sierra Nevada in California. It is located in the Palisades, a group of prominent rock peaks with a few small glaciers on their flanks. Mount Sill is located 0.6 miles (1 km) east of North Palisade, the high point of the group. The two peaks are connected by a high, rocky ridge, on the north side of which lies the Palisade Glacier. Mount Sill lies on the main Sierra Crest, but is at a point where the crest turns sharply, giving it particularly striking summit views. On one side is Kings Canyon National Park and Fresno County; on the other is the John Muir Wilderness, Inyo National Forest and Inyo County.
The Great Western Divide is a Sierra Nevada mountain range located largely in Sequoia National Park. Some of the summits of the Great Western Divide reach well over 13,000 feet (3,962 m). The High Sierra Trail crosses the range at Kaweah Gap from Sequoia National Park.
Mount Langley is a mountain located on the crest of the Sierra Nevada, on the boundary between Inyo and Tulare counties in eastern California, in the United States. To the east is the Owens Valley, and to the west is the Kern River Valley. It is the ninth-highest peak in the state and the seventh-highest in the Sierra. Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States, lies 4.8 miles (7.7 km) to the northwest. Mount Langley also has the distinction of being the southernmost fourteener in the United States.
Florence Peak is a mountain located on the Great Western Divide, a sub-range of the southern Sierra Nevada of California. It is located about 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of the community of Silver City and 4.5 miles (7.2 km) from the roads end at Mineral King. It marks the southern boundary of Sequoia National Park. On the summit the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Wilderness, the John Krebs Wilderness and Golden Trout Wilderness meet.

Needham Mountain is a mountain summit of the Sierra Nevada, located in Tulare County, California. It is located in the southern Sierra Nevada, in the central part of Sequoia National Park. Needham Mountain is 6 mi (9.7 km) miles east of Mineral King, 5.6 mi (9.0 km) northeast of Mount Kaweah, and 17 mi (27 km) southwest of the highest peak in the state, Mount Whitney. With an altitude of 12,536 ft (3,821 m), Needham Mountain is the twentieth-highest mountain in California with a prominence of 1,880 ft (570 m). The mountain is named after an American congressman who represented California at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, James C. Needham. The first ascent of the summit was made in July 1916, by M. R. Parsons, Agnes Vaile, H. B. Graham, and Edmund Chamberlain.

It is situated in Sequoia National Park, and is two miles (3.2 km) south-southwest of Mount Whitney, 1.3 miles (2.1 km) southwest of Mount Muir, and 1.1 miles (1.8 km) west of Trail Crest. Topographic relief is significant as it rises approximately 1,500 feet above Hitchcock Lakes in less than one-half mile. Mt. Hitchcock ranks as the 112th highest summit in California.

The John Muir Trail traverses below the south and west aspects of the mountain, providing access. Joe Devel Peak is a 13,327-foot-elevation (4,062 meter) mountain summit located just west of the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Tulare County, California. Set in Sequoia National Park, it is situated 4.35 miles (7.0 km) south of Mount Whitney, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast of Mount Chamberlin, and 0.87 mile south of Mount Pickering, the nearest higher neighbor. Joe Devel Peak ranks as the 88th-highest summit in California, and the southernmost 4,000-meter peak in the contiguous United States. Topographic relief is significant as the southwest aspect rises over 3,300 feet above Rock Creek in approximately two miles. The Pacific Crest Trail traverses to the south and west of the mountain, providing an approach option. This mountain's name was proposed by Owen L. Williams of the Sierra Club in 1937, and officially adopted by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, to commemorate Joseph Devel, one of the members of the Wheeler Survey who made the first ascent of this summit on September 20, 1875.

Picket Guard Peak ranks as the 345th-highest summit in California, and topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 4,265 feet above Kern Canyon in approximately three miles.
