Khalfian (Persian : خلفيان‎, also Romanized as Khalfīān)^[1] is a village in Qeshlaq Rural District, in the Central District of Ahar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 360, in 71 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Qeshlaq Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Ahar County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 12,028, in 2,539 families. The rural district has 63 villages.

The District has one city: Ahar.
