Kirkland is a village in the Eden district of the English county of Cumbria. It is in the historic county of Cumberland. There is a fell called Kirkland Fell.
Cumbria is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in North West England. The county and Cumbria County Council, its local government, came into existence in 1974 after the passage of the Local Government Act 1972. Cumbria's county town is Carlisle, in the north of the county. The only other major urban area is Barrow-in-Furness on the south-western tip of the county.

The Great Cumbrian Run is an annual half marathon road running event held in Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom. Dave Cannon finished first in the inaugural Cumbrian Run in 1982 completing the course in 1:05:06 while Francis Bowen of Kenya holds the race record of 1:03:35 achieved in 2004.
