La Sirena Beach (Spanish : Playa La Sirena) is a beach located around two kilometers north of Aguas Dulces resort, in Rocha Department, Uruguay. It was officially designated as a naturist beach by the authorities of the government of Rocha.
It is located at two and a half kilometers north from the beach of Aguas Dulces resort town. It can be reached going from Aguas Dulces, walking from the end of Cachimba y Faroles street through the beach or the sand dunes until reaching the sign posts. [1]
It is a wide beach of thin sands in along the Atlantic Ocean shore, surrounded by sand dunes covered by psammophile vegetation, with minor wetlands, ponds and acacia trees. [2]
La Sirena is a naturist beach, specially authorized by the department authorities for practising naturism and nudism, although it is a clothing-optional beach, not being mandatory to enter completely naked. It is the second naturist beach of Uruguay after Chihuahua beach in Maldonado Department, and it opened as such in 2012. [3]
As in every beach, there are rules about hygiene and protection of the environment, but there are also specific rules related to this kind of beach: to respect the personal space of the other naturist people, to not stare at other persons persistently or in a lustful way, nor to take photos or record videos of anyone without their consent. The beach does not have its own lifeguard support and its tourist infrastructure is underdeveloped, [2] therefore, in order to seek for housing or food is necessary to travel to Aguas Dulces resort. [3] For tourism-related inquiries, these can be done at the tourist information office of the government of Rocha, in the crossing of Route 16 and Cachimba y Flores street in Aguas Dulces resort. [1]
Naturism is a lifestyle of practicing non-sexual social nudity in private and in public; the word also refers to the cultural movement which advocates and defends that lifestyle. Both may alternatively be called nudism. Though the two terms are broadly interchangeable, nudism emphasizes the practice of nudity, whereas naturism highlights an attitude favoring harmony with nature and respect for the environment, into which that practice is integrated. Vera is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Today Vera is one of the most important commercial centres in the region, with a thriving traditional core and a number of supermarkets and commercial organisations spread along the ring road. Vera itself lies approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) inland from the coast, but the municipality extends to the sea shore. There, a tourist settlement, named Vera Playa, has been developed. This now forms the main economic activity of Vera. Since 1990, Vera Playa has developed into an important naturist village.

Punta del Diablo is a village and seaside locality in Uruguay, Rocha Department, 298 kilometres (185 mi) east from the capital Montevideo. According to the 2011 census, its permanent population consisted of 823 inhabitants, mostly fishermen and artisans, while during high tourism season, the population swells to approximately 25,000, mostly with Argentinians, Brazilians and Europeans on holiday. As with the country it is located in, the primary language spoken in Punta del Diablo is Spanish. In 2008 it was named by the magazine "Lonely Planet" as one of the top 20 places to visit and invest.

A naturist resort or nudist resort is an establishment that provides accommodation and other amenities for guests in a context where they are invited to practise naturism – that is, a lifestyle of non-sexual social nudity. A smaller, more rustic, or more basic naturist resort may be called a naturist camp.
Naturism in Uruguay is practiced at least since the 1960s, firstly by foreigners coming to Uruguay and later by Uruguayan naturists. It is being practiced on the two officially designated naturist beaches : Chihuahua beach in Maldonado that is the most known, and the other is La Sirena Beach in Rocha.
Naturism in Argentina is the movement supporting the practice of social nudism in the country, which began to be regularly performed in 1934 and it is being practiced nowadays, despite still being a taboo topic in the Argentine society. The most important nudist destinations include Escondida Beach, Querandí Beach and Eden club in Buenos Aires Province, as well as Yatan Rumi in the Córdoba sierras.
