  13. The 2019–20 season was curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with league positions decided on a points-per-game basis. Blackpool averaged 1.29 points from 35 games.

The EFL League Two play-offs are a series of play-off matches contested by the association football teams finishing from fourth to seventh in EFL League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. They are part of the annual English Football League play-offs. As of 2022, the play-offs comprise two semi-finals, where the team finishing fourth plays the team finishing seventh, and the team finishing fifth plays the team finishing sixth, each conducted as a two-legged tie. The winners of the semi-finals progress to the final which is contested at Wembley Stadium.

The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.

The 1945–46 season was Blackpool F.C.'s first season of post-World War II football. They competed in the 22-team Football League North, a stop-gap competition introduced between the end of inter-war football and the recommencement of the Football League proper the following season, finishing ninth. The statistics from this season are not included in official publications.

Blackpool Football Club is an English association football club based in Blackpool, Lancashire, that currently competes in the EFL Championship. The club was founded in 1887 and became founder members of the Lancashire League during the 1889–90 season. The team was elected to The Football League in 1896 and remained there, with the exception of the 1898–99 season where they failed to gain re-election, until the club was promoted to the Premier League in 2010. Blackpool were relegated back to the Football League for the following season where they've remained to the present.
