Royal Meteorological Society

The Royal Meteorological Society is a long-established institution that promotes academic and public engagement in weather and climate science. Fellows of the Society must possess relevant qualifications, but Associate Fellows can be lay enthusiasts. Its Quarterly Journal is one of the world's leading sources of original research in the atmospheric sciences.

Kay Davies British geneticist and anatomist; educator

Dame Kay Elizabeth Davies, is a British geneticist. She is Dr Lee's Professor of Anatomy at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford. She is director of the Medical Research Council (MRC) functional genetics unit, a governor of the Wellcome Trust, a director of the Oxford Centre for Gene Function, and a patron and Senior Member of Oxford University Scientific Society. Her research group has an international reputation for work on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). In the 1980s, she developed a test which allowed for the screening of foetuses whose mothers have a high risk of carrying DMD.

Sir John James Skehel FRS FMedSci is a British virologist and Emeritus scientist at the Francis Crick Institute in London. From 1987 to 2006 he was Director of the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) at Mill Hill which was incorporated into the Crick Institute in 2016.

Pamela Jane Taylor, is a British psychiatrist and academic, who specialises in the links between psychosis and violence, and mental and physical health in the criminal justice system. Since 2004, she has been Professor of Forensic Psychiatry in the Department Institute of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences of Cardiff University.

Sir Simon Fraser Campbell, is a British chemist.

Anne Mills Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

Dame Anne Jane Mills, is a British authority on health economics. She is Vice Director and Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

The Royal Society of Chemistry awards the designation of Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry for distinguished service in the field of chemistry.

J. Michael Brady medical image analysis researcher

(John) Michael Brady is an Emeritus professor of Oncological Imaging at the University of Oxford and has recently retired as Professorship in Information Engineering (1985-2010). He is a Fellow of Keble College, Oxford and a foreign member of the French Academy of Sciences. He was formerly BP Professor of Information Engineering at Oxford from 1985 to 2010 and a Senior Research Scientist in the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) in Cambridge, Massachusetts from 1980-1985.

Roger L. Williams Structural biologist and group leader, Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge

Roger Lee Williams is a structural biologist and group leader at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology. His group studies the form and flexibility of protein complexes that associate with and modify lipid cell membranes. His work concerns the biochemistry, structures and dynamics of these key enzyme complexes.

Joanna Marguerite Wardlaw is a Scottish physician, radiologist, and academic specialising in neuroradiology and pathophysiology. Wardlaw worked as a junior doctor before specialising as a radiologist. She continues to practice medicine as an Honorary Consultant Neuroradiologist with NHS Lothian. She has spent her entire academic career at the University of Edinburgh.
