The Melbourne Stars are an Australian cricket club who play in the Big Bash League, the national domestic Twenty20 competition. The club was established in 2011 as an inaugural member of the eight-club league. The Big Bash League consists of a regular season and a finals series of the top four teams. This list includes players who have played at least one match for the Stars in the Big Bash League.
Players are listed according to the date of their debut for the Heat. All statistics are for Big Bash League and Champions League Twenty20 only.

Marcus Peter Stoinis is an Australian cricketer who plays limited overs cricket for the Australian national team. He is contracted to Western Australia and Melbourne Stars domestically, and has previously also played for Perth Scorchers and Victoria as an all rounder.
The Melbourne Renegades are an Australian professional men's Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital city of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. The team is coached by David Saker and captained by Nic Maddinson.
Nathan Mitchell Coulter-Nile is an Australian cricketer who has played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Australian national side. Domestically, he is contracted to Western Australia and the Melbourne Stars. From Perth, Western Australia, Coulter-Nile attended Aquinas College, and represented the state under-17 and under-19 teams, later going on to play three youth ODI matches for the Australian national under-19 team. Having held a rookie contract from the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for several seasons, he made his debut at state level during the 2009–10 season, and has since become a regular selection in Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers' fast bowling attacks. Coulter-Nile made his Twenty20 International debut for the Australian national cricket team in February 2013, and his ODI debut in September 2013.
The 2012–13 Big Bash League season or BBL|02 was the second season of the Big Bash League, the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The tournament began on 7 December 2012, with the final being held on 19 January 2013.
The 2014–15 Big Bash League season or BBL|04 was the fourth season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The fourth edition ran from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. The league ran two weeks longer as compared to the previous season. The opening match of the 2014–15 Big Bash League was played between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars on 18 December at the Adelaide Oval. The format of fourth season is same as previous season. A total of 35 matches will be played during the Big Bash 2014–15 season.
Beau Webster is an Australian cricketer who currently represents Tasmania and the Melbourne Stars. An allrounder, Webster is a right-handed batsman capable of bowling both right-arm off-break and medium pace.
The Sydney Sixers (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Moore Park, New South Wales. They are one of two teams from Sydney to compete in the Women's Big Bash League, the other being the Sydney Thunder. Claiming two titles and appearing in four consecutive championship deciders, along with being the first team to win 50 matches, the Sixers are the most successful WBBL franchise to date.

Wesley Austin Agar is an Australian cricketer. He is a fast bowler who has played for Australia's national youth team, and has played first-class and List A cricket for South Australia and Twenty20s for the Adelaide Strikers. He is the younger brother of fellow Australian international cricketer, Ashton Agar. He made his international debut for Australia in July 2021.

On 15 July 2020, Cricket Australia confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. The tournament started on 10 December 2020, and finished on 6 February 2021, with the majority of the matches played at night.
Maia Emily Bouchier is an English cricketer who currently plays for Hampshire, Southern Vipers, Southern Brave, Melbourne Stars and Western Australia. She plays as a right-handed batter and bowls occasional right-arm medium pace. She previously played for Middlesex, as well as spending one season with Auckland. She made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in September 2021.

The tournament was played from 5 December 2021 and finished on 28 January 2022. The Perth Scorchers defeated the defending champions Sydney Sixers by 79 runs in the final to claim their fourth title.
The 2021–22 Melbourne Stars season was the eleventh in the club's history. The team was coached by David Hussey and captained by Glenn Maxwell, which they had competed in the BBL's 2021–22 season.
