List of Oakland Designated Landmarks

Last updated

Oakland, California began a program of designating the city's historic landmarks and properties starting in 1973. [1] Many of the properties have also received recognition at the federal level by inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places or by designation as National Historic Landmarks. [2]

United States lightship <i>Relief</i> (WLV-605)

United States lightship Relief (WLV-605) is a lightvessel now serving as a museum ship in Oakland, California. Built in 1950, she is one of a small number of surviving lightships, and one of an even smaller number built specifically for the United States Coast Guard. Along with her sister ship, the WLV-604 Columbia, she is a good example of the last generation of lightships built. She was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

Treadwell Mansion and Carriage House, is a historic mansion with carriage house built in c. 1875 in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland, California, U.S.. The two buildings used to be part of the campus for California College of the Arts, from 1922 until 2022. The Treadwell Mansion and Carriage House has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 15, 1977; listed as a California Historical Landmark since July 15, 1977; and listed as an Oakland Designated Landmark under the name "Treadwell Hall" since August 5, 1975. It is also known as the James Treadwell Mansion, Treadwell Hall, and Macky Hall.

Golden Sheaf Bakery is a historical building and former bakery built in 1905 and located at 2069–2071 Addison Street in Berkeley, California, U.S. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 31, 1978; listed as a California Historical Landmark since March 31, 1978; and listed as a Berkeley Landmark since October 17, 1977.
