Hermione Jean Granger is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. She first appears in the novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (1997), as a new student on her way to Hogwarts. After Harry and Ron save her from a mountain troll in the girls' restroom, she becomes best friends with them and often uses her quick wit, deft recall, and encyclopaedic knowledge to lend aid in dire situations. Rowling has stated that Hermione resembles herself as a young girl, with her insecurity and fear of failure.

In 1963, Michael Werner opened his first gallery, Werner & Katz, in Berlin, Germany with the first solo exhibition of Georg Baselitz. Galerie Michael Werner was later established in Cologne in 1969. Since then, Galerie Michael Werner has worked with several of the most important artists of the twentieth century.

Anand Gopal is a writer for the The New Yorker magazine and author of No Good Men Among the Living: America, the Taliban and the War Through Afghan Eyes, which describes the travails of three Afghans caught in the war on terror. It was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction and the 2014 National Book Award for non-fiction. He has won many major journalism prizes, including the National Magazine Award, for his magazine writing on conflict in the Middle East.

Blue hair does not naturally occur in human hair pigmentation, although the hair of some animals is described as blue. Some humans are born with bluish-black hair, which is black that has a blue hue under the light.

<i>Doctor Who</i> (season 21) Season of television series

The twenty-first season of British science fiction television series Doctor Who began on 5 January 1984 with the Fifth Doctor serial Warriors of the Deep, and ended with Colin Baker's first serial The Twin Dilemma. For the third time, the entire TARDIS crew changed over the course of a single season. John Nathan-Turner produced the series, with Eric Saward script editing.

Jed was a Pacific Northwestern American animal actor, known for his roles in the movies: White Fang (1991), White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf (1994), The Journey of Natty Gann (1985), and The Thing (1982). He was born in 1977 and died in June 1995. He was a Vancouver Island wolf-Alaskan Malamute hybrid.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Wellard</span> Fictional dog from the BBC soap opera EastEnders

Wellard is a Belgian Tervuren dog from the BBC soap opera EastEnders. His character first appeared in the series on 18 October 1994, and became EastEnders' longest-serving pet, before being killed off on 15 August 2008. Although the character is male, he has been played primarily by three female dogs: Zenna, her daughter Chancer, and her granddaughter Kyte. A fourth dog briefly served as a replacement for Zenna in 1996, when she was given time off from the show to have a litter of puppies.

<i>Amhi Satpute</i> 2008 Indian film

Aamhi Satpute is a 2008 Indian Marathi-language comedy-drama film directed and produced by Sachin Pilgaonkar. It stars Sachin Pilgaonkar, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Swapnil Joshi, Amruta Sant and Ashok Saraf in lead roles. The film is based on Satte Pe Satta (1982) and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954).

Helene Fuld College of Nursing is a private nursing school in Manhattan, New York City. The college offers associate and comprehensive baccalaureate science degrees to Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and individuals who are not already nurses. The college is located in the East Harlem section of Manhattan in the Mount Morris Park Historic District across from Marcus Garvey Park. It was founded seventy-seven years ago in 1945.

Alcohol Change UK is a British charity and campaign group founded in 1984 whose aim is to reduce the harm caused by alcohol. It is best known for its flagship awareness programs Alcohol Awareness Week and Dry January.

Eric Pearson is an American screenwriter. He has worked with Marvel Studios, writing various short films for their Marvel One-Shots series of films, and writing the screenplay for the feature films Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Black Widow (2021), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Charise Matthaei</span> German ice dancer

Charise Matthaei is a German ice dancer. With her former skating partner, Maximilian Pfisterer, she is a two-time German national junior champion and competed in the final segment at two World Junior Championships. They placed 11th at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Hamar, Norway. Since Mai 2022 she competes with her skating partner, Max Liebers, at the senior level in ice dance.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fano (militia)</span> Amhara youth militia in Ethiopia

Fano, also FANO or Fanno, is an Amhara militia. One stated objective of Fano leadership as of March 2020 was for Benishangul-Gumuz Region's Metekel Zone, the districts of Welkait and Raya in the Tigray Region, and the district of Dera in Oromia to be placed under the control of the Amhara Region. During the Tigray conflict, Fano supported federal and Amhara regional forces against rebels aligned to the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). Fano members have been accused of participating in ethnic massacres.

Genevieve Kurilec McDonald is an American Democratic politician, lobster boat captain, and fisheries advocate from Maine. In 2018, she was the first female commercial fisherman to be elected to the Maine House of Representatives. McDonald represented House District #134: Cranberry Isles, Deer Isle, Frenchboro, Isle au Haut, North Haven, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Swan's Island, Tremont, Vinalhaven, and Marshall Island. In 2013, she successfully led a social media campaign to prompt fishing gear producer Grundéns to produce commercial fishing gear for women. In June 2014, McDonald became the first woman to serve on the Maine Department of Marine Resources Lobster Advisory Council (LAC). McDonald resigned her House seat effective on May 10, 2022, the day after the last Legislative Day of the Second Regular Session of the 130th Maine Legislature.

The KSU President's Cup Ranking Competition is a figure skating national championship held annually to determine the national team of South Korea and Four Continents Figure Skating Championship team.
