This is a list of the best-selling singles in Germany , some of which have been certified by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI). Since June 1, 2014, BVMI certifies a single platinum for the download or shipment of 400,000 copies across Germany. [2]

Strictly Physical is the second studio album by all-female German pop trio Monrose. It was released by Starwatch Music in association with Cheyenne Records and Warner Music on 21 September 2007 in German-speaking Europe and on 8 October 2007 in parts of Eastern Europe. Released only nine months after its best-selling predecessor Temptation (2006), the album took Monrose's work further into dance and electro music, featuring main production by Danish producers Remee, Thomas Troelsen, and Peter Biker, as well as British composers from production collectives Jiant, and Snowflakers.

"Warum?" is a song by German female pop-rap group Tic Tac Toe. The song was written by Thorsten Börger and tells about a close friend of the group members, Melanie, who had developed an addiction to drugs and died as a result of overdose. "Warum?" was released as the lead single from their second album, Klappe die 2te (1997), on 24 February 1997 and was met with commercial success, reaching number one in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as well as number four in the Netherlands. In certi momenti is the third album by Italian pop/rock singer Eros Ramazzotti, produced by Piero Cassano and released in 1987 on the BMG label.

The Bundesverband Musikindustrie, or simply BVMI, represents the music industry in Germany. The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry. It is a member of the London-based International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), consisting of music associations of 70 countries.

German recording artist Cassandra Steen has released four studio albums and twelve singles. Steen began her career as lead vocalist of pop trio Glashaus. "I Believe" is a song by German pop group Bro'Sis. It was written by Alex Christensen, Jens Klein, Peter Könemann, and Clyde "J. Ena" "Ward and produced by the former for their debut studio album, Never Forget (2001). The song was released as the band's debut single on 3 December 2001 following their formation on the RTL II reality television show Popstars – Du bist mein Traum. It became the year's Christmas number one in Germany and spent five consecutive weeks at number one, achieving a double platinum certification from the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Silbermond discography</span>

German pop rock band Silbermond has released six studio albums, one compilation albums, and twenty singles. In 2004, their record company Sony BMG requested the quartet to record and release skate punk song "Mach's dir selbst" as their debut single; the song underperformed on the charts. Months later, second single "Durch die Nacht" became a top twenty hit on the German Singles Chart and prompted the label to release Silbermond's debut album Verschwende deine Zeit (2004). A major success, it reached the top five in Austria and Germany, where it was certified platinum and 7× gold, respectively. Ballad "Symphonie", the album's third single, became the group's first top five hit.

"Liebe ist" is a song by German recording artist Nena. It was co-written and produced along by Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen for her 13th studio album, Willst du mit mir gehn (2005). Selected as the album's lead single, it served as the theme song for the Sat.1 telenovela Verliebt in Berlin. Upon its release in February 2005, "Liebe ist" topped the German Singles Chart for two weeks, becoming Nena's second number-one hit, after 1983's "99 Luftballons", and her first chart-topper as a solo artist. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) awarded the song a gold certification for shipping 150,000 units in Germany alone. A remix of "Liebe ist" for American audiences was considered but never surfaced.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Verpiss' dich</span> 1996 single by Tic Tac Toe

"Verpiss' dich" is a song by German female pop-rap group Tic Tac Toe, written by Torsten Börger, Claudia A. Wohlfromm, and Tic Tac Toe. The track is a breakup song, with its lyrics directed at the ex-partner who has left for another woman. The song was released as the fourth and final single from the group's self-titled debut album in October 1996 and topped the charts in Germany and Switzerland. The single sold over 800,000 units by late April 1997.
