Cruisin' is the third studio album by the American disco group Village People, released on September 25, 1978. Its title is a double entendre, referring to either simply driving around or gay cruising. The album features the hits "Hot Cop" and "Y.M.C.A.", which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
"No No Never" was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, performed in English by Texas Lightning. While Germany had finished the 2005 contest in last place, their position as one of the Contest's "Big Four" ensured the song an automatic final berth. Thus, it was performed eighth on the night, following Malta's Fabrizio Faniello with "I Do" and preceding Denmark's Sidsel Ben Semmane with "Twist of Love". At the close of voting, it had received 36 points, placing 14th in a field of 24.
Deichkind is a German electropunk band formed in Hamburg in 1997. Current members are “Kryptik Joe” alias Philipp Grütering (rapper/songwriter), Henning “DJ Phono” Besser (DJ), Sebastian “Porky” Dürre (rapper/songwriter) and Roland “Roy” Knauf (producer). Deichkind started with hip hop, later added elements of electronic dance music to its style. The band themselves call their music TechRap as a combination of techno and rap music. The songs are often satirical and criticize consumerism and the performance-oriented society.

Daniel Schuhmacher is a German singer and songwriter. In 2009, he rose to fame after winning the sixth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German edition of Pop Idol. His debut album The Album was released later in the same year and topped the German and Austrian Albums Charts, going gold. It spawned the hit single "Anything but Love", his coronation song, which became a number-one hit Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and was also certified gold.
"I Like" is a song by American singer Keri Hilson. It was written and produced by German musicians David Jost and Robin Grubert and recorded by Hilson for the soundtrack for the German film Zweiohrküken (2009). The track was later also featured on a re-released edition of Hilson's 2009 studio album In a Perfect World.... The song debuted at number 1 on the official German Top 100 Singles chart and was eventually certified Platinum by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI). After its success in Germany, the song entered many other charts in Mainland Europe.
"Warum?" is a song by German female pop-rap group Tic Tac Toe. The song was written by Thorsten Börger and tells about a close friend of the group members, Melanie, who had developed an addiction to drugs and died as a result of overdose. "Warum?" was released as the lead single from their second album, Klappe die 2te (1997), on 24 February 1997 and was met with commercial success, reaching number one in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as well as number four in the Netherlands. The single sold 700,000 copies in less than two months and remains Tic Tac Toe's biggest hit.

The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry. It is a member of the London-based International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), consisting of music associations of 70 countries.
"I Believe" is a song by German pop group Bro'Sis. It was written by Alex Christensen, Jens Klein, Peter Könemann, and Clyde "J. Ena" "Ward and produced by the former for their debut studio album, Never Forget (2001). The song was released as the band's debut single on 3 December 2001 following their formation on the RTL II reality television show Popstars – Du bist mein Traum. It became the year's Christmas number one in Germany and spent five consecutive weeks at number one, achieving a double platinum certification from the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI).
German pop rock band Silbermond has released six studio albums, one compilation albums, and twenty singles. In 2004, their record company Sony BMG requested the quartet to record and release skate punk song "Mach's dir selbst" as their debut single; the song underperformed on the charts. Months later, second single "Durch die Nacht" became a top twenty hit on the German Singles Chart and prompted the label to release Silbermond's debut album Verschwende deine Zeit (2004). A major success, it reached the top five in Austria and Germany, where it was certified platinum and 7× gold, respectively. "Liebe ist" is a song by German recording artist Nena. It was co-written and produced along by Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen for her 13th studio album, Willst du mit mir gehn (2005). Selected as the album's lead single, it served as the theme song for the Sat.1 telenovela Verliebt in Berlin. Upon its release in February 2005, "Liebe ist" topped the German Singles Chart for two weeks, becoming Nena's second number-one hit, after 1983's "99 Luftballons", and her first chart-topper as a solo artist. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) awarded the song a gold certification for shipping 150,000 units in Germany alone. A remix of "Liebe ist" for American audiences was considered but never surfaced.
"Verpiss' dich" is a song by German female pop-rap group Tic Tac Toe, written by Torsten Börger, Claudia A. Wohlfromm, and Tic Tac Toe. The track is a breakup song, with its lyrics directed at the ex-partner who has left for another woman. The song was released as the fourth and final single from the group's self-titled debut album in October 1996 and topped the charts in Germany and Switzerland. The single sold over 800,000 units by late April 1997.
