Mangaung Oval is a sports ground in Bloemfontein, South Africa with a capacity of 20,000. The ground has hosted Test cricket since its first match in 1999 when South Africa played Zimbabwe. [1] Four Test matches have been played at the ground [2] along with 28 One Day Internationals (ODIs), the first of which was in 1992 when South Africa played India. [3] The ground staged its first [Twenty20 International]] when South Africa played against Zimbabwe in 2010. [4]
South African batsman Jacques Kallis became the first man to score a Test century at Mangaung Oval when he made 160 against New Zealand in 2000. It still stands as the highest Test individual score at the ground, and a double century is yet to be scored. Overall, 9 Test centuries have been scored at the ground. [5]
Sixteen ODI centuries have been scored at Mangaung Oval, the first by South African batsman Andrew Hudson who scored 108 from 147 deliveries against India in 1992. The highest score achieved at the ground is 145* not out made by Zimbabwean wicket keeper Brendan Taylor against South Africa in 2010. [6]
