Azzam al-Ahmad is a Palestinian politician, economist and diplomat. He holds a BA in economics from Baghdad University and has held various significant positions throughout his career. He was the head of the From 1971 to 1974, he served as the head of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) in Ba'athist Iraq, later becoming the deputy head of the GUPS Executive Committee from 1974 to 1980.
Palestinian Territories - United Arab Emirates relations are the economic and political relations between the United Arab Emirates and The Palestinian Territories. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has a Liaison Office in Ramallah while the Palestinian Authority maintain an embassy in Abu Dhabi. Touqan Palace is one of the most important historical buildings in the city of Nablus, West Bank, Palestine. Ziyad Jamil Abdel Fattah is a Palestinian politician, writer, journalist and novelist, born in Tulkarm, Palestine. He is one of the leaders of the Fatah movement, founder of the Palestinian News Agency, a member of the Palestinian National Council in the Palestine Liberation Organization for several sessions, and the former president of Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), the Palestinian General Authority for Consultations, and the Palestinian National Library. Abdel Fattah was very close to late president Yasser Arafat, and he witnessed all the events on his side. Abdel Fattah has been dubbed "the legend of the Palestinian revolution media."

On the evening of 17 April 2004, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi, aged 56, was assassinated by missiles fired by Israeli warplanes on the car he was traveling in.
