The members of the 25th Knesset were elected on 1 November 2022 [1] and sworn in on 15 November. [2]

Composition

One Druze lawmaker, 29 women, 23 new MKs and three openly gay MKs were elected to the 25th Knesset. [3] The number of Arab MKs was the lowest in two decades with 10 MKs. [4]

Yamina or Yemina was an Israeli political alliance of right-wing parties that originally included the New Right and the Union of Right-Wing Parties. The National-Religious Party–Religious Zionism, or Mafdal–Religious Zionism, is a far-right religious Zionist political party in Israel. The party was formed in August 2023, when the Religious Zionist Party and The Jewish Home parties agreed to merge. The merger is expected to give the former Religious Zionist Party a foothold at the municipal level, while The Jewish Home will be able to wield some power after not gaining any seats in the 2022 Israeli legislative election. Hagit Moshe, the former head of The Jewish Home, will lead the party's Jerusalem list ahead of the 2024 Israeli municipal elections. The election was originally set to take place on 30 October, but on 23 October the Knesset pushed back the date until 30 January 2024 as a result of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. The election was pushed back again on 31 December to 27 February.

The 2024 Israeli Labor Party leadership election is scheduled to be held in April 2024 to elect a successor to Merav Michaeli as leader of the Israeli Labor Party.
