The members of the 25th Knesset were elected on 1 November 2022 [1] and sworn in on 15 November. [2]
One Druze lawmaker, 29 women, 23 new MKs and three openly gay MKs were elected to the 25th Knesset. [3] The number of Arab MKs was the lowest in two decades with 10 MKs. [4] On 30 June 2024, the Israeli Labor Party announced plans to merge with Meretz to become The Democrats, [5] with Labor MKs expected to become MKs for the new party; the merger was approved on 12 July. [6]
On 11 November 2024 Joint List MK Ofer Cassif was suspended from the Knesset for six months for supporting the South Africa's genocide case against Israel. [7]

Nitzan Horowitz is a politician and former journalist who served as Israel's Minister of Health from 2021 to 2022. He is the former leader of Meretz. He previously was the chief U.S. correspondent and commentator for the Israeli News Company, known as Channel 2 News.
Moshe "Mossi" Raz is an Israeli politician. He was a member of the Knesset for Meretz in three spells between 2000 and 2022.
Yair Golan is an Israeli politician and leader of the Democrats party and a senior military officer. He served as the Deputy Minister of Economy in the Thirty-sixth Israeli government, and served as a Member of the Knesset representing Meretz from 2019–2022. He is a reserve major general (Aluf) in the Israel Defense Forces. During his military service he served, among other roles, as the IDF Deputy Chief of Staff, Commander of the Home Front Command and Commander of the Northern Command. In May 2024, Golan was elected leader of the Israeli Labor Party on a platform of merging the party with the rival left-wing party, Meretz. On 30 June 2024, the two parties announced an agreement to form a new party, The Democrats. The agreement, which designates Golan leader of the new party, was approved by both parties' congresses on 12 July 2024.
Tamar Zandberg is an Israeli politician who served as Minister of Environmental Protection from 2021 to 2022, as a member of the Knesset for Meretz from 2013 to 2021, and as the party's leader between 2018 and 2019.
Meretz was a left-wing political party in Israel. The party was formed in 1992 by the merger of Ratz, Mapam and Shinui, and was at its peak between 1992 and 1996 when it had 12 seats. It had no seats in the Knesset following its failure to pass the electoral threshold in the 2022 elections, the only time it failed to win seats in the Knesset.
Yifat Shasha-Biton is an Israeli educator and politician who served as Minister of Education between 2021 and 2022. She also served as a Member of the Knesset between 2015 and 2024, as minister without portfolio between 2023 and 2024, and as Minister of Construction and Housing from 2019 to 2020.
