The members of the 25th Knesset were elected on 1 November 2022 [1] and sworn in on 15 November. [2]

Composition

One Druze lawmaker, 29 women, 23 new MKs and three openly gay MKs were elected to the 25th Knesset. [3] The number of Arab MKs was the lowest in two decades with 10 MKs. [4] On 30 June 2024, the Israeli Labor Party announced plans to merge with Meretz to become The Democrats, [5] with Labor MKs expected to become MKs for the new party; the merger was approved on 12 July. [6]

On 11 November, 2024, leftist MK Ofer Cassif was suspended from Knesset for 6 months for supporting the South Africa's genocide case against Israel. [7]

She served as the Labor Party's leader from 2021 until 2024, and as Minister of Transport in the thirty-sixth government of Israel.

The Israeli Labor Party, commonly known as HaAvoda, was a social democratic political party in Israel. The party was established in 1968 by a merger of Mapai, Ahdut HaAvoda and Rafi. Meretz was a left-wing political party in Israel. The party was formed in 1992 by the merger of Ratz, Mapam and Shinui, and was at its peak between 1992 and 1996 when it had 12 seats. It had no seats in the Knesset following its failure to pass the electoral threshold in the 2022 elections, the only time it failed to win seats in the Knesset.

Blue and White was a centrist and liberal Zionist political alliance in Israel. It was established by the Israel Resilience Party, Yesh Atid and Telem to run in the April 2019 Knesset election, in hopes of defeating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Blue and White defines itself as a pluralistic alliance representing all citizens on the political and religious spectrums. The phrase "blue and white" refers to the colors of the Israeli flag, and is colloquially used to describe something as being typically Israeli.

The 2018–2022 Israeli political crisis was a period of political instability in Israel, in which five Knesset snap elections were held in a span of over three years: in April 2019, September 2019, March 2020, March 2021 and November 2022.

Legislative elections were held in Israel on 1 November 2022 to elect the 120 members of the 25th Knesset. The results saw the right-wing national camp of former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu win a parliamentary majority, amid losses for left-wing and Arab parties, as well as gains by the far-right.

In the run up to the 2022 Israeli legislative election, various organisations carried out opinion polling to gauge voting intention in Israel during the term of the 24th Knesset. This article lists the results of such polls.

Avigdor "Avi" Maoz is an Israeli civil servant and politician. The leader of the far-right, religious conservative Noam party, he is currently its sole member in the Knesset.

The 2022 Meretz leadership election was held on 23 August 2022 in the leadup to the 2022 Israeli legislative election. On 12 July, incumbent Nitzan Horowitz announced that he would not seek re-election as leader. Former party leader Zehava Galon defeated former deputy Chief of the General Staff Yair Golan.

Legislative elections are scheduled to be held in Israel by 27 October 2026 to elect the 120 members of the twenty-sixth Knesset. In late February 2024, Israeli journalist Yoav Krakowsky suggested it was likely they would take place in January or February 2025.

He has served as a member of the Knesset for Otzma Yehudit since 2022. He has served as a regional coordinator for the party. Owing to his police and militia background, Cohen acquired nicknames including "the sheriff" and "the warrior from the Negev" within the party.

Hadash–Ta'al is a joint list in Israel, composed of Hadash and Ta'al. The list was established for the first time in 2003 for the election to the 16th Knesset, and ran again in the elections of April 2019 and 2022.

The thirty-seventh government of Israel is the current cabinet of Israel, formed on 29 December 2022, following the Knesset election on 1 November 2022. The coalition government consists of seven parties — Likud, United Torah Judaism, Shas, Religious Zionist Party, Otzma Yehudit, New Hope and Noam — and is led by Benjamin Netanyahu, who has taken office as the Prime Minister of Israel for the sixth time. The government is notable for its inclusion of far-right politicians.

The 2024 Israeli Labor Party leadership election was held on 28 May 2024 to elect a successor to Merav Michaeli as leader of the Israeli Labor Party. Yair Golan won the election.
