List of quadrant routes in Columbia County, Pennsylvania

Quadrant Routes in Pennsylvania are maintained by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. This article lists all the routes and their termini in Columbia County. As is the case with the other counties in the state, the route numbers start in the northeast quadrant and go clockwise from the 1000s to the 4000s. There is no numbering order scheme. Odd numbered roads travel south to north. Even numbered roads travel west to east.

The north–south quadrant divider is the North Branch Susquehanna River. The east–west quadrant dividers are PA 61 from the Schuylkill County line to Centralia, PA 42 from Centralia to Catawissa, and PA 487 from Catawissa to the Luzerne County line.

Pennsylvania Route 61 is an 81.8-mile-long (131.6 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The route is signed on a north–south direction, running from U.S. Route 222 Business in Reading northwest to US 11/US 15 in Shamokin Dam. PA 61 heads north from Reading through Berks County to Hamburg, where it meets Interstate 78 (I-78)/US 22. The route continues into the Coal Region in Schuylkill County and heads through Schuylkill Haven, Pottsville, Frackville, and Ashland. PA 61 passes through the southern part of Columbia County, where it turns west in Centralia, before it heads into Northumberland County and runs west through Mount Carmel, Kulpmont, Shamokin, and Sunbury. The route crosses the Susquehanna River into Snyder County and soon reaches its northern terminus.

Pennsylvania Route 54 is a state highway which runs for 82 miles (132 km) in eastern Pennsylvania. It runs from U.S. Route 15 (US 15), which is three miles (5 km) west of Montgomery, Lycoming County in the west, to US 209 in Nesquehoning, Carbon County in the east.

Pennsylvania Route 42 is a 58.6-mile-long (94.3 km) state route located in central Pennsylvania. The southern terminus of the route is at PA 61 in Centralia. The northern terminus is at U.S. Route 220 in Laporte. The route heads north through Columbia County and passes through Catawissa before it crosses the Susquehanna River to Bloomsburg. In Bloomsburg, PA 42 forms a concurrency with US 11 and has an interchange with Interstate 80 (I-80). Past Bloomsburg, the route continues north through Millville and runs through the eastern part of Lycoming County. PA 42 heads into Sullivan County and runs concurrent with US 220 between Beech Glen and Muncy Valley before it loops west through Eagles Mere and reaches its terminus in Laporte.

Pennsylvania Route 487 is a 64.2-mile-long (103.3 km), north–south state highway running from PA 61 in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County to PA 87 in Dushore, Sullivan County. In Bloomsburg, PA 487 and US 11 share a brief wrong-way concurrency. After its brief concurrency with PA 118, PA 487 goes up a steep grade through Ricketts Glen State Park. PA 487 is used to carry traffic up the Fishing Creek valley.

Pennsylvania Route 339 is a 32.8-mile-long (52.8 km), north–south state highway located in Schuylkill, Columbia, and Luzerne Counties in Pennsylvania. The southern terminus is at PA 54 in Mahanoy City. The northern terminus is at PA 93 in Nescopeck. The route is a two-lane road that passes through mountainous areas in the eastern part of the state. PA 339 runs north through the Coal Region to Brandonville, where it heads northwest to follow the Catawissa Creek to Mainville. From Mainville, the route passes through farmland to Mifflinville, where it follows the Susquehanna River to Nescopeck. PA 339 forms a concurrency with PA 924 in Brandonville and has an interchange with Interstate 80 (I-80) in Mifflinville.
