Captain Sturt Civil Ensign of the United Kingdom.svg AustraliaThe paddle steamer (??? GRT, 1916) sank off Kangaroo Island, South Australia. [2]
Cläre Hugo Stinnes I Flag of Norway.svg  Norway World War II: The captured German cargo ship was sunk at Ulvik. She was refloated later in 1940 and re-entered German service. [3]
Dalhousie Civil Ensign of the United Kingdom.svg  United Kingdom World War II: The tug (782 GRT, 1885) was scuttled. [4]
FernFlag of the United States (1912-1959).svg  United States With no one on board, the 10-gross register ton, 34.2-foot (10.4 m) motor cargo vessel was wrecked in the middle of George Inlet on the southern coast of Revillagigedo Island in the Alexander Archipelago in Southeast Alaska. [5]
Haalegg Flag of Norway.svg  Norway World War II: The cargo ship (1,758 GRT, 1922) was either bombed and sunk at Narvik, Norway, by Luftwaffe aircraft on 17 May; or was shelled and sunk by Royal Navy ships on 13 April. Raised in 1945, repaired and returned to service. [6]

HMS Thames Naval Ensign of the United Kingdom.svg  Royal Navy World War II: The River-class submarine (2,165/2,680 t, 1932) went missing in the North Sea between 23 July and 3 August. She probably struck a mine and sank in the North Sea off Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway ( 57°20′N3°10′E / 57.333°N 3.167°E / 57.333; 3.167 ) with the loss of all 63 crew. [15]
