Teams

The 18 UCI WorldTeams are automatically invited to the race. Additionally, the organisers of the Tour, the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), invited four second-tier UCI Professional Continental teams to participate in the event. The three French teams and one Belgian team have each participated in the race before. [2] [3]

The 2015 season for Lotto–Soudal began in January at the Tour Down Under. As a UCI WorldTeam, they were automatically invited and obligated to send a squad to every event in the UCI World Tour.

Vérandas Willems–Crelan was a UCI Professional Continental team founded in 2013 and based in Belgium. During the winter the team is active in cyclo-cross. In August 2018 it was announced that the team would merge with Roompot–Nederlandse Loterij for the 2019 season under the name Roompot-Crelan.

The race took place between 12 and 16 August 2020 in France, having originally been scheduled for 31 May to 7 June, and then postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in France. The 14th edition of the Strade Bianche was held on 1 August 2020. Starting and finishing in Siena, Italy, it was the sixth event of the 2020 UCI World Tour. The race was originally scheduled for 7 March 2020 but was postponed to 1 August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After finishing third in the past two editions of the race, Belgian Wout van Aert of Team Jumbo–Visma won the race in just under five hours after going solo with around 13 kilometers to go.

The race, which was 194.2 kilometres (120.7 mi) long, started in Terneuzen in the Netherlands and traveled through the windy fields of Zeeland before crossing the border into Belgium and finishing in Schoten on the outskirts of Antwerp.
