National Key Universities previously referred to universities recognized as prestigious and which received a high level of support from the central government of the People's Republic of China. The term is no longer in official use by 1990s. The term "zhòngdiǎn" 重点, translated here as "key," in this phrase can also be translated as "major," "priority," or "focal." The term "National Key Universities" then became defunct, and these schools are now normally referred to as "Double First Class Universities“, based on the China state Double First-Class Construction. However, it remains part of the vernacular, as evidenced by some Chinese media articles which still refer to "National Key Universities".

The Jiangsu Second Normal University is located in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China. It was established as a modern university in 1952, and is the only one dedicated to both teacher education and educational science research in Jiangsu province. It has many national and provincial education research programs, to guide the province's education and scientific research work for the educational administrative departments at all levels of government and provide the basis for scientific decision-making.

Xinyang Normal University (XYNU) is located in Xinyang city with famous cultural and historical interests in the south of Central China's Henan province.

The Nanyang Normal University is an ordinary undergraduate college in Henan Province. It was founded in 1951 in Nanyang Normal School of Henan Province. In 1958, it was upgraded to Nanyang Normal College. In 2000, it was upgraded to Nanyang Normal University. In 2007, through the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education, in 2011, it was approved as the “National Special Needs Talent Training Project – the bachelor degree awarded unit to carry out the training of master's degree graduate students”. In 2016, it was identified as a demonstration application in Henan Province. The technical type of undergraduate colleges was approved in 2017 as a master's degree granting unit.

The Nanyang Institute of Technology is a full-time public undergraduate college. It is located in Nanyang, Henan, a famous historical and cultural city. The school has 19 teaching colleges, covering nine departments of science, engineering, management, literature, economics, education, law, medicine, and art. There are more than 20,000 full-time students and students.

The COVID-19 pandemic reached the province of Henan, China on 21 January 2020.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy</span> University in Zhengzhou, China

Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy is an undergraduate college in Zhengzhou, Henan, which was established in 2013 from the merger of Zhengzhou College of Animal Husbandry Engineering and Henan Business College. It occupies an area of 141 hectares and has more than 30,000 full-time in-person students. It has 1492 full-time instructors, including 1040 with postgraduate training.
