Live 1986, also known as Eric Clapton & Friends Live 1986 or The Eric Clapton concert is a concert film released by the British rock musician Eric Clapton. [2] It was originally released on VHS in 1987 and later re-released on DVD in 2003. [3] In addition to the video release, a compact disc was released in 2007. The concert was recorded at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on 15 July 1986. [4]

Reception

Music critic Anneke Brüning notes that the release features a shorter DVD track listing than its rival Live at Montreux 1986 , but thinks the Live 1986 release is not less interesting. [5] The release reached number two on the British music video charts, compiled by the Official Charts Company. [6] Both the album and video release were certified with a gold certification award in the United Kingdom. Other golden discs were presented to Clapton for outstanding sales figures in Australia, Brazil and Canada.

Clapton claimed that this would be his last world tour, making this album initially more valuable. However, he has since toured the world several times, both on his own and with Steve Winwood.

24 Nights is a live album by Eric Clapton, compiled from 42 concerts performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, in 1990 and 1991. It was released on 8 October 1991. The cover illustration is by Peter Blake. It was reissued in June 2023 as The Definitive 24 Nights in a limited edition box set containing songs which were not included in the original release. The reissue contains 35 previously unreleased performances and the collection is divided into three sets: Rock, Blues, and Orchestral.

The song was about "the committee", the group of Pattie Boyd's friends whom Clapton blamed for coming between Pattie and him. "Tearing Us Apart" was a duet with Tina Turner and was released as the second single from the album in mid-1987, following "Behind the Mask". The song did not chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, but was a minor hit in the UK. The song has been included on several setlists of Clapton's live performances in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s; performed by other female vocalists such as Katie Kissoon, Tessa Niles, Shaun Murphy, Tracy Ackerman, Sheryl Crow, Sharon White and Michelle John. Clapton resurrected the song for his 11-night residency at the Royal Albert Hall in May/June 2011 and his European/South American tours from February 14 to October 16. Live In Hyde Park is concert film recorded by blues-rock guitarist Eric Clapton on 29 June 1996 in London's Hyde Park. The concert was presented by the MasterCard Masters of Music for The Prince's Trust and featured songs from right across his career. The VHS of the footage from the concert was released in 1997, followed by a DVD version in 2001. Part of Live in Hyde Park was also released as a 4-track promotional CD by Clapton's EC Access fan club in August 2005, featuring Tearin' Us Apart, Five Long Years, I'm Tore Down, and Every Day I Have the Blues.

A film of the concert was released on 14 September 2015 via cinema broadcasting in various territories. The cinema release included a report on Clapton's history at the Royal Albert Hall. The English singer Eric Clapton has released 22 video albums and concert films as well as 17 music videos. His commercially most successful video releases are the DVDs of his Crossroads Guitar Festival series. His 2007 release sold over two million DVD and Blu-rays to date, making it one of the best-selling music video DVDs ever to be released. The 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD was certified 10-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Clapton's video releases are popular all over the world, especially in North and South America, Europe and Oceania. Clapton's small number of music videos are similarly successful. Live at Montreux 1986 is a concert film featuring the British blues rock guitarist and singer Eric Clapton. The video release consists of live footage that was recorded while Eric Clapton and his band played for over one and a half hours at the 1986 Montreux Jazz Festival. The set list includes Clapton's signature songs such as "I Shot the Sheriff," "Cocaine," "Layla" and "Let It Rain" as well as his Cream-era hits "Crossroads," "White Room," "Badge" and "Sunshine of Your Love." Drummer Phil Collins also sang his 1981 hit "In the Air Tonight." The video taping was released on 19 September 2006 on DVD format. A Blu-ray disc was also released in 2014. In Concert: A Benefit for the Crossroads Centre at Antigua is a live concert film featuring performances by the British blues musician Eric Clapton and invited friends, such as David Sanborn, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige and Bob Dylan. The DVD and VHS formats were released on 26 October 1999 under license of Warner Bros. Records. The concert tickets revenue was donated to the Crossroads Centre Foundation. It was the first Crossroads Guitar Festival, although titled differently at the time. The release reached various national charts and sold more than 225,000 copies worldwide.

Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 is a concert film released on November 8, 2010, by the British rock musician Eric Clapton under Rhino Records and the Warner Music Group. It is sometimes credited as a "Various Artists" compilation release. The music film features 40 tracks on the DVD and Blu-ray format. Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 was released worldwide, reached various international music charts and was awarded several certification awards for outstanding sales and shipments.
