Lloyd Wade is an English gospel and soul singer and pop vocal coach from South London. [1] He achieved some fame in the UK Christian music scene performing with his brothers Denis, Derek and David in the group the Wades in the 1990s, including a set at Champion of the World in Wembley Stadium in 1997.

He was working as a vocal coach and teacher of social behaviour in an inclusion (education) department when he appeared as a contestant in the 2004 series of The X Factor , and made the final 5 of the "over 25" category, which was mentored by Simon Cowell.

Early life and career

Wade learned his trade in gospel music singing with his brothers in the MOBO nominated group The Wades for 18 years. The Wades toured extensively across Europe and Australia during the nineties, playing at many notable venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, Wembley Arena, Wembley Stadium and the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Entertainment Centres. Their largest single festival audience was at the Chicago Gospel Festival in Grant Park where they performed live to some 100,000 festival goers, as well as many radio and television appearances throughout their career.

Wade attended regular vocal classes throughout his early development as a singer and in 1991 he became a vocal coach. Wade has worked closely with the BBC Fame Academy judges David and Carrie Grant for their vocal session company both as a session singer and as an associate vocal coach. Wade has been instrumental in helping to shape the vocal prowess of many people over the last 18 years such as Daniel Bedingfield and Natasha Bedingfield in their formative years leading up to their career and subsequent chart success. 2010 - Wade sings the main hook on singer Eliza Doolittle's top ten single "Pack Up" which peaked at #5 in the British pop chart behind entries from Kylie Minogue and Eminem.

In 2007 Wade was guest vocalist with Take That on their Beautiful World Tour 2007, duetting with them on "Relight My Fire", singing a mixture of the Gnarls Barkley song "Crazy" and the part sung on the single version of "Relight My Fire" by Lulu.

He was a support vocalist Simon Webbe's song "Coming Around Again". He was a vocalist for the BBC Tsunami appeal song. Wade worked with Robert Palmer as a backing singer on his TV appearances, which included an appearance on Later... with Jools Holland and Palmer's 35 state tour of America in the fall of 1999.[ citation needed ]Wade coached Howard Donald of Take That in 2008. In 2009 Wade coached Jess Stickley of Girls Can't Catch.In 2010 he was a joint vocalist on the One Voice appeal song for the 2010 Haiti earthquake, "Somebody Please".

Wade enjoyed top 5 chart success dueting with Eliza Doolittle on her hit single Pack Up and has appeared with her on TV and radio shows across Europe throughout 2010 and 2011.

Wade Provided singers for the background vocal choirs for X factor in Series 4 and 5,(2007/2008) and on series 8 (2011) he joined the X factor vocal coaching team as an associate vocal coach working with the judges, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland, and Tulisa Contostavlos.

Series finalists he worked with were little mix, Marcus Collins, Amelia Lilly, Frankie Cocozza, Craig Colton, James Michael, Misha B, Janet Devlin, Sophie Habibis, Jonny Robinson, Sami Brookes, Kitty Brucknell, Jonjo Kerr, Jo Robinson, 2 shoes, Nu vibe, The Risk.

In 2013, Wade, along with a band named Band of Voices, auditioned for the 7th series of Cowell's other talent show Britain's Got Talent, Cowell recognised him. Band of Voices were put through to the semi-finals and performed on the first live show, despite gaining a large fanbase from the audition, the group were eliminated later that night through the public vote. In February 2017, it was announced that Wade would star in Soul Town at Butlins Holiday Resorts, the show will last from February till December 2017. [3]

In 2004, Wade successfully auditioned for the first series of The X Factor , he made it through to the judges houses stage of the competition, and was placed in the over 25s category, his potential mentor Simon Cowell did not send him through to the live shows and he was therefore eliminated. Simon later lamented to Lloyd's manager that he regretted not sending Lloyd through.

The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The fifth series was broadcast on ITV from 16 August 2008 until 13 December 2008. Dermot O'Leary returned to present the main show on ITV, while Fearne Cotton was replaced by Holly Willoughby as presenter of spin-off show The Xtra Factor on ITV2. Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Dannii Minogue returned to the judging panel. Sharon Osbourne left after four series and was replaced by Cheryl Cole. The series was won by Alexandra Burke, with Cole emerging as the winning mentor. Auditions in front of producers were held in April and May, with callbacks in front of the judges in June. The number of applicants for series 5 reached an all-time high with a reported 182,000 people auditioning. A number of well-established music acts from around the world, such as Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Girls Aloud, Take That, Il Divo, and series 3 winner Leona Lewis, performed during the live stages of the show.

Daniel Pearce is an English singer, songwriter and actor who was a finalist on the ITV reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals. He won a place in the British boy band One True Voice, who subsequently released two top ten singles, "Sacred Trust"/"After You're Gone" and "Shakespeare's Words". Pearce, an arranger and co-writer of some of their songs, left the group in summer 2003, shortly before the band split up. In September 2009, he auditioned for the 2009 series of The X Factor, but failed to progress as far as the live finals.

The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The seventh series started on ITV on 21 August 2010 and ended on 12 December 2010. The series saw the creation of the boy band One Direction, from boys who entered the competition as individuals. The winner of the competition was Matt Cardle. Cardle was mentored throughout the show by Dannii Minogue. After the victory, he released his debut single "When We Collide". A total of 15,448,019 votes were cast throughout the series. It was presented by Dermot O'Leary, with spin-off show The Xtra Factor presented by Konnie Huq on ITV2, who took over from Holly Willoughby.

The X Factor in the UK has been subject to much controversy and criticism since its launch in 2004. This has included allegations of conflict of interest, voting irregularities and overcharging, product placement for sponsors, staging scenes, use of pitch correction technology, and exploiting vulnerable contestants. The series has also been criticised for developing singers as marketable products rather than creative individuals. As of April 2020, there have been fifteen completed series broadcast on the ITV network, as well as spin-offs The X Factor: Celebrity (2019) and The X Factor: The Band (2019).

Ellona Rano Santiago is a Filipino-born American singer from San Lorenzo, California. She was a contestant on American television show The X Factor. In season 1, she was a part of the ten-member group InTENsity mentored by Paula Abdul which came in 12th place. Santiago returned in season 3, where she was mentored by Demi Lovato and placed 6th overall out of 16 finalists.

The Voice UK is a British singing competition television series. Created by John de Mol, it premiered on BBC One during the spring television cycle on 24 March 2012. Based on the original The Voice of Holland, and part of The Voice franchise, it has aired ten series and aims to find currently unsigned singing talent contested by aspiring singers, drawn from public auditions. The winners receive a recording contract with Polydor Records. Winners of the ten series have been: Leanne Mitchell, Andrea Begley, Jermain Jackman, Stevie McCrorie, Kevin Simm, Mo Adeniran, Ruti Olajugbagbe, Molly Hocking, Blessing Chitapa and Craig Eddie.

The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The eleventh series began airing on ITV on 30 August 2014 and finished on 14 December 2014. Dermot O'Leary presented his eighth series of the main show on ITV and Sarah-Jane Crawford presented spin-off show The Xtra Factor on ITV2, replacing Caroline Flack and Matt Richardson. Louis Walsh was the only judge from series 10 to return and was joined by former judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell, and new judge Mel B, who replaced Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger. Former judge Tulisa returned as a guest judge for the final on 13 December due to Mel B being ill. The series also saw the lower age limit decreased from 16 to 14, as it was in series 4 and 5. This was Walsh's final series as a judge before returning in series 13. It was O'Leary's final series as presenter on the main show, as he announced on 27 March 2015 that he was leaving to pursue other projects, before returning in series 13. On 11 May, Crawford also confirmed via Twitter that she would leave her position as The Xtra Factor presenter.

Stereo Kicks were an English-Irish boy band who were formed and finished fifth place on the eleventh series of The X Factor in 2014. Stereo Kicks consisted of; James Graham, Jake Sims, Chris Leonard, Charlie Jones, Casey Johnson, Barclay Beales, Reece Bibby, and Tom Mann. Their debut single "Love Me So" was released on 21 June 2015 and charted at number 31 on the UK Singles Chart. Just a month later, however, having been together under a year, they announced they were disbanding due to their failure to land a record deal.

The X Factor: Celebrity is a British celebrity special edition of The X Factor which premiered on 12 October 2019 on ITV. It is a revamped version of the 2006 celebrity format The X Factor: Battle of the Stars. Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh judged this series, with Dermot O'Leary presenting the series and Vick Hope hosting Xtra Bites on YouTube.

The X Factor: The Band is a special edition of British reality talent competition The X Factor, which premiered on 9 December 2019 on ITV. The format for the series was announced on 4 November 2019 as a last-minute replacement for a planned All Stars spin-off series, which was originally supposed to air following The X Factor: Celebrity in late 2019. The format is an accelerated version of The X Factor whereby solo artists auditioned in front of Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger to try to win a place in a boyband or girlband. The new bands would then compete for a chance to join Cowell's record label and launch their careers.
