Roberta Howett (born 26 September 1981 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish singer who was the first contestant eliminated in the first UK series of television talent show The X Factor in 2004.

Howett successfully auditioned for the first series of The X Factor in 2004 and made it to "bootcamp", "judges' houses" and the live shows, but was eliminated in the first live show.

In 2007, Howett sang on Toni Castells's debut album, Unharmed. [1]

She announced on Irish Radio[ citation needed ] that she would release three singles in Ireland, before finally releasing her debut album. On Friday 26 February 2010, her debut single titled "Beautiful Lies" was finally released in Ireland. On Thursday 4 March 2010, Beautiful Lies became Howett's first Top 40 single debuting at Number #23 in the Irish Singles Chart.

In July 2011, Howett appeared as a backing singer for Niall Breslin. [2]

The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent; the winner of which receives a £1 million recording contract with the Syco Music record label. The first series was broadcast from 4 September to 11 December 2004. The competition was split into several stages: auditions, bootcamp, judges' homes and live shows, with Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell as judges. Kate Thornton presented the show on ITV, whilst Ben Shephard presented the spin-off show The Xtra Factor on ITV2.

Maria Lawson is an English singer. She recorded several singles with Ti.Pi.Cal. Lawson was the fifth contestant eliminated in the second UK series of television talent show The X Factor in 2005. She released her debut self-titled album in 2006. Her self-help/autobiography entitled Life Starts Now was released in November 2008. Lawson appeared in the female lead role in the West End production of Thriller – Live from 14 April 2009 to March 2010. She released her second studio album, Emotional Rollercoaster in 2014. Lawson lives in London with her husband Lawrence and their two children.

The X Factor is a British reality television music competition, created by Simon Cowell. Belle Amie were an English pop girl group based in London. They were formed during the seventh series of The X Factor in 2010. Lane had left the group in early January 2011 and Creighton left in April 2012 in order to pursue a solo career.
