MTV Europe Music Awards Annual European awards

The MTV Europe Music Awards are awards presented by Viacom International Media Networks to honour artists and music in pop culture. It was originally conceived as an alternative to the MTV Video Music Awards, which are hosted annually in the United States. The Europe Music Awards are held every year in a different country; it has been hosted mostly in the United Kingdom. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest.

The MTV Asia Awards was the Asian equivalent of the European MTV EMA. Held from 2002 to 2008, the show gave recognition and awards to Asian and international artists in achievement, cinema, fashion, humanitarian, and music. Just like the EMAs, most of the awards were voted by viewers from the Asian region.

The MTV Europe Music Award for Best Video is an award category presented at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The award was first presented in 1994 under the name Best Director, awarded to Whale's "Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe". This is the only MTV EMA award - excluding special awards - whose winner is chosen by MTV, rather than by the public. "Hey Ya!", "Born This Way" and "Havana" are the only music videos to also win Best Song. The artists with the most wins are Katy Perry, Justice and Massive Attack with two wins each. Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift are the artists with the most nominations, with five each. Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift are the only performers to have won the award for a video they co-directed: Lamar for "Humble" in 2017 and Swift for "ME!" in 2019.

MTV Europe Music Award for Best Pop

The MTV Europe Music Award for Best Pop was first presented in 1998. British girl group the Spice Girls were the first ever act to receive the award. American singer Britney Spears was the first solo female artist to win the award in 1999, while American singer Justin Timberlake was the first male solo artist to win in 2003. South Korean boy group BTS are the first Kpop act to be nominated in this category in 2020. British boy band One Direction are currently the act with the most award wins in this category, receiving a total of three.

Kartel Records Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian hip-hop record label, dealing predominantly in hip-hop/R&B music, founded by rapper/entrepreneur Joe Flizzow in 2005. In 2008, Kartel Records entered into a distribution agreement with Warner Music Group Malaysia, enabling the record label to market its artists to a wider audience.

2014 MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2014 MTV EMAs were held at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland on 9 November 2014. This was the first time since 2003 when the awards were held in Scotland and the fifth time the United Kingdom has hosted the MTV EMA since the show was hosted in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The event showcases the world's hottest musical acts in a different city each year. The event was hosted by Nicki Minaj.

2016 MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2016 MTV EMAs were held at the Rotterdam Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on 6 November 2016. It was hosted by Bebe Rexha. This was the third time the awards have taken place in the Netherlands, and the second time Rotterdam has been the host city. The awards were held in the same venue as the 1997 MTV EMAs.

2017 MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2017 MTV EMAs were held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, United Kingdom, on 12 November 2017. The host of the ceremony was Rita Ora, with voiceovers provided by Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp. This was the sixth time that the UK has hosted the awards show, and the second time London has been the host city. London first hosted the awards ceremony in 1996 at Alexandra Palace. The ceremony was directed for television by British award-winning multi camera director Hamish Hamilton.

2018 MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2018 MTV EMAs was held at the Bizkaia Arena in Barakaldo, part of Greater Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain, on 4 November 2018. The host of the ceremony was Hailee Steinfeld. This was the third time that Spain hosted the annual awards show.

IV of Spades Filipino pop funk band

IV of Spades is a Filipino rock band from Metro Manila, Philippines, consisting of vocalist, bassist and keyboardist Zild Benitez, vocalist and lead guitarist Blaster Silonga, and drummer Badjao de Castro. Unique served as the band's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist until 2018. The band first gained exposure with the release of their 4th single "Mundo". On August 21, 2020, the band entered a hiatus.

Jasmine Sokko is a Singaporean electronic music singer-songwriter and producer. Known for wearing her trademark masks to conceal part of her face, she is also one of the top most-streamed Singaporean female singers on Spotify.

2020 MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on 8 November 2020. The show was hosted by Little Mix, making them the first group to ever host the show, however only three members of the group, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, appeared; Jesy Nelson did not participate due to health reasons. In similar fashion to its American counterpart held earlier this year, performances for the show were filmed at various locations around Europe due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The two-hour long show was broadcast in 180 countries.
