Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT) is an Indian private university in Uttar Pradesh. Its main campus is in Lucknow, [6] with a satellite campus in Noida. [7]

The university was established in 2014 by an Act No. 31 of 2001 vide Extraordinary Gazette notification of Government of Uttar Pradesh dated 6 October 2001. MUIT is approved by the University Grants Commission.
The university is among the oldest private universities of India, established in 2014.

History

MUIT has been recognized by the state government of Uttar Pradesh since its founding in 2014. The university holds accreditation from the University Grants Commission. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

Governance

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi served as the first Chancellor. The current Chancellor is Ajay Prakash Shrivastva, and the current Vice-Chancellor is Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh. [13]

The swearing-in ceremony was held at BRSABV Ekana International Cricket stadium, Gomti Nagar Extension in Lucknow. The head of all the big Indian and NDA lead states along with the big businessmen's including many celebrities were invited in the ceremony. 53 ministers were given oath by the Governor.
