Mark Stone (born 12 June 1969) is a British baritone appearing in concerts, recitals, and opera. [1]
Born in London, England, he studied at Wilson's School, Wallington, London, [2] before going up to King's College, Cambridge to read Mathematics. [3] After graduating in 1990, he worked as a Chartered Accountant and as an investment banker [3] before studying singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London from 1995 to 1998. [4]
He made his operatic debut in 1998, singing the role of Escamillo for Opera North, [5] since when he has also appeared in the UK at the Royal Opera House, [6] English National Opera, [7] Glyndebourne [8] and Welsh National Opera. [9] He made his U.S. debut for the Opera Company of Philadelphia [10] and went on to sing at Santa Fe Opera. [11] Elsewhere he has sung for La Scala (Milan), [12] Opera Nationale de Montpellier, [13] Liceu (Barcelona), [14] Deutsche Oper Berlin, [15] Cologne Opera, [16] Leipzig Opera, [17] the Royal Swedish Opera, [18] Nationale Reisoper (Enschede), [19] Israeli Opera [17] and New Zealand Opera. In 2016 he premiered the role of The Count in Elena Langer's opera Figaro Gets a Divorce , for Welsh National Opera.
He appears regularly in concert, having sung with the London Symphony Orchestra, [21] the Hallé Orchestra, [22] the Academy of Ancient Music, [23] the Oxford Lieder Festival, [24] the Philharmonia Orchestra, [25] the BBC Concert Orchestra, [26] the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, [17] the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, [27] the Munich Radio Orchestra, [28] the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, [29] the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (East Berlin), [30] the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y Léon [31] and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia. In 2008 he formed the CD label Stone Records. [3] Originally created to release his own recordings, the label expanded, as Stone began to release discs from other artists, and the catalogue now includes vocal, choral, orchestral and instrumental music. Artists include American guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan with the 2015 issue of 'The Legend of Hagoromo'. [33]

Bernard Johan Herman Haitink was a Dutch conductor and violinist. He was the principal conductor of several international orchestras, beginning with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1961. He moved to London, as principal conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra from 1967 to 1979, music director at Glyndebourne Opera from 1978 to 1988 and of the Royal Opera House from 1987 to 2002, when he became principal conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden. Finally, he was principal conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 2006 to 2010. The focus of his prolific recording was classical symphonies and orchestral works, but he also conducted operas. He conducted 90 concerts at The Proms in London, the last on 3 September 2019 with the Vienna Philharmonic. His awards include Grammy Awards and the 2015 Gramophone Award for his lifetime achievements.
Sir Bryn Terfel Jones, is a Welsh bass-baritone opera and concert singer. Terfel was initially associated with the roles of Mozart, particularly Figaro, Leporello and Don Giovanni, but has subsequently shifted his attention to heavier roles, especially those by Puccini and Wagner.
