Marshall Islands Athletics, also known as Marshall Islands Athletics Federation (MIAF) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Marshall Islands. [1]

History

Athletes from the Marshall Islands participated already at the 1969 Micronesian Games, (the Marshall Islands then still being part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands,) [2] and also after re-establishment of the Games in 1990. [3]

The foundation of MIAF is reported for 1987, as well as its affiliation to the IAAF in the same year. [4]

Melvin Majmeto served as president of MIAF. [5]

Current president is former shot putter and discus thrower Rais Aho. [1] [6]

Athletics Vanuatu, also known as Vanuatu Athletics Association, is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Vanuatu. Current president is former sprinter Jansen Molisingi. He was elected for the first time in February 2012.

The Athletics Nauru (AN), also known as Nauru Athletics Association (NAA), is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Nauru.

The Athletics Norfolk Island (ANI), also known as Norfolk Island Athletics Association, is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Norfolk Island. Current president is former hammer thrower Brentt Jones.

The Marshall Islands competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's third consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics.
