Metallica concert chronology

American heavy metal band Metallica toured throughout 2021 and 2022 in support of the 30th anniversary of their fifth and self-titled studio album Metallica , [2] the 40th anniversary of the band, [3] and in continuation of the WorldWired Tour. [4] It was their first tour after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Contents

It kicked off on September 16, 2021, in San Francisco. The 2022 portion of the tour was titled the Return Of The European Summer Vacation. [5] [6]

Their June 29, 2022 show for Frauenfeld Rocks in Switzerland was cancelled when a member of the band tested positive for COVID-19. [7]

The setlist has varied from show to show. They have played some of their hits, such as "Nothing Else Matters", "Enter Sandman", "One" and "Master of Puppets", as well surprises such as "Metal Militia". [8] [9]

Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. They were also one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the East Coast. The band's current lineup consists of Scott Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, vocalist Joey Belladonna and lead guitarist Jonathan Donais. Kim Bendix Petersen, better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish rock musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and wide-ranging countertenor singing voice, in particular his far-reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. He also plays keyboards and guitars on studio recordings but uses live shows to focus solely on his vocal performance. Diamond is renowned for his dark lyrical content and his story concepts. Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. Their current lineup consists of guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bassist Jack Gibson, drummer Tom Hunting, and lead vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza. There are no original members left in Exodus other than Hunting, who has departed from the band twice, in 1989 and 2004, but rejoined in 2007. Wherever We May Roam was a concert tour by the American heavy metal band Metallica in support of their eponymous fifth studio album. It began in autumn of 1991. The North American legs ran through summer 1992, followed by the Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour, the Wherever We May Roam European leg, and finally the Nowhere Else to Roam tour of smaller markets in North America, Mexico, Asia, Australia, South America, Europe and Israel, ending in the summer of 1993.

The World Tour was a co-headlining concert tour by English rock band Def Leppard and American rock band Mötley Crüe, which took place from February through November 2023 in venues across Latin America, Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. During their previous tour, The Stadium Tour, the members of Def Leppard indicated that a European version of The Stadium Tour would take place in 2023. Tour dates were announced on October 20, 2022; this tour was advertised as The World Tour and confirmed to be a co-headlining tour of Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe. In addition to playing stadiums and entertainment venues, the tour also featured appearances at international music festivals. The tour was announced on November 28, 2022, following the release of the album's first single, "Lux Æterna". The tour began on April 27, 2023 in Amsterdam and is set to conclude on November 19, 2025 in Auckland. Along with an upgraded stage design which relocates the "Snake Pit" to the center stage, the tour features two or more performances in the majority of cities played.
