Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica is a tribute album to heavy metal band Metallica. It features Metallica covers played not by formal bands, but collaborations between musicians from several bands. Songs from Kill 'Em All (1983) all the way to Metallica (1991), with the exception of ...And Justice for All (1988), are featured. Robert Trujillo, who later joined Metallica in 2003, plays bass on two tracks.[ citation needed ]

Master of Puppets is the third studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica, released on March 3, 1986, by Elektra Records. Recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark, at Sweet Silence Studios with producer Flemming Rasmussen, it is the band's final album to feature bassist Cliff Burton. He first rose to prominence as the bassist of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies from 1989 to 1995, while also collaborating with Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir for funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves. After leaving Suicidal Tendencies, he performed with Ozzy Osbourne, Jerry Cantrell, and heavy metal band Black Label Society. Trujillo joined Metallica in 2003 and is the band's longest-serving bassist. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Metallica in 2009.

Davis had been a Metallica fan since his teenage years; explaining the genesis of the album to the Sacramento News & Review, he said: "I’ve been a huge Metallica fan since I was 14, and have wanted to do this album for a long time. I had a hunch that their music could sound really amazing on the piano. "Seek & Destroy" is a song by the American heavy metal band Metallica and the ninth track from their debut studio album, Kill 'Em All (1983). It was also featured on the demo No Life 'Til Leather. It was the first song the band recorded in a studio. "Seek & Destroy" has been frequently performed at the group's concerts since its live debut in 1982 and had been Metallica's closing song from the Madly in Anger with the World Tour to the Metallica By Request Tour. It is the third-most performed song in the band's history, having been played 1,610 times as of October 2024, behind only "Creeping Death" (1,637) and "Master of Puppets" (1,757).

The Metallica Blacklist is a various artists tribute album featuring covers of every track from Metallica's 1991 self-titled album. The collection was assembled in conjunction with the original album's 30th anniversary. Most of the songs are covered multiple times, with 53 artists participating. The album was released in digital formats on September 10, 2021, and in physical formats on October 1, 2021.

"Battery" is a song by the American heavy metal band Metallica, and serves as the opening track to the band's third studio album, Master of Puppets.
