Minister for Foreign Affairs (Ghana)

The Minister for Foreign Affairs is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the country's foreign policy and international diplomacy. The foreign minister is usually one of the most senior members of Cabinet. Under military regimes in Ghana, the title; minister has been replaced with commissioner or secretary.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs since January 2017 has been Honorable Shirley Ayorkor Botchway. The ministry is at present combined with other portfolios to form the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration under the government of Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party.

Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, is a Ghanaian politician who serves as Ghana's minister for foreign affairs and regional integration. She was appointed by Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo as Minister of Foreign Affairs on 10 January 2017. She was a Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom from 2013 to 2021. and had served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and a Minister of State at the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing under John Kufuor. She is a member of the New Patriotic Party.

Mercy Yvonne Debrah-Karikari is a Ghanaian diplomat and the first female to be secretary to the cabinet of the government of Ghana. She was appointed to occupy this position by the current president Nana Akufo-Addo. Her appointment took effect on 14 February 2017.

Samuel Abu Jinapor, is a Ghanaian lawyer and a politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency. In 2017, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo appointed him as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations at the Office of the President, at the age of 33, the youngest in the history of Ghana to occupy such a position. The Government of Ghana initially responded to the virus through a nationwide disinfection and fumigation exercise which began in April 2020. In order to curb the spread of the virus, the government enforced lockdowns, aggressive contact tracing, public bans and social measures such as encouraging the wearing of face masks. By April, it began the gradual reopening of the country; lifting all lockdowns while maintaining protocols such as social distancing. Throughout the pandemic, the government partnered with the private sector in order to roll out economic reliefs and recovery programs as a result of the impact of the pandemic on Ghana's economy. There was also an expansion of medical facilities and the improvement of testing logistics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo</span> Ghanaian presidential administration from 2017 to present

The presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo began on 7 January 2017. Following the 2016 Ghanaian general elections, Nana Akufo-Addo the flag-bearer of the New Patriotic Party, succeeded John Mahama as the 5th President of the Ghanaian Fourth Republic after winning by a landslide. He won a second term on 9 December 2020 in a tightly contested race against National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate and former president, John Mahama.

Akua Sakyiwaa Ahenkorah is a Ghanaian diplomat who has worked for the Foreign relations of Ghana in various capacities and presently serves as Ghana's Ambassador to Malaysia. She is the first female Ghanaian envoy to Malaysia.

Edwin Nii Adjei is a Ghanaian diplomat who was Ghana's High Commissioner to the Commonwealth of Australia from 2017 to 2022. Prior to this appointment, he was the Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration from July 2016.
