The Home Minister of Bangladesh is the minister in charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He is also the minister of all departments and agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Abul Hasnat Muhammad Qamaruzzaman was the first person appointed to this office by the then Mujibnagar government formed during the Bangladesh War of Independence in 1971. [1]

The foreign relations of Bangladesh are Bangladesh's relationships with foreign countries. The Government of Bangladesh's policies pursue a moderate foreign policy that heavily relies on multilateral diplomacy, especially at the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). Directly borrowing from the four tenets of Mujibism, the political ideology of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the constitution states nationalism, socialism, democracy and secularism as its four fundamental principles.

Mohammed Nasim was a Bangladesh Awami League politician who served as Bangladesh's minister of home affairs and minister of health and family welfare during 1999–2001 and 2014–2019, respectively. He was a 6-term Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Sirajganj-1 and Sirajganj-2 constituencies. He was a presidium member of Awami League and the spokesperson of the 14-party alliance.

The Bangladeshi passport is an ICAO compliant, machine-readable and biometric e-passport issued for the purpose of travel to foreign countries by the passport holder. Bangladesh is the first country in South Asia to issue e-passports for all eligible citizens. The passport booklet is manufactured, printed and issued by the Department of Immigration & Passports of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This electronic microprocessor chip embedded e-passport has forty-one different security features, including holographic images embossed in thin-film laminate, which change colour under light and appear to move. Demographic and biometric information of the e-passport holder are stored on the chip inside the e-passport. This information includes the fingerprints of all ten fingers of the passport holder; the iris scan of both eyes; a color photograph of the face of the bearer; their digital signature; etc. Depending on the age of the applicant, the e-passport is valid for either five years or ten years and it is distributed by the Government of The People's Republic of Bangladesh, or by any of its overseas diplomatic missions, to eligible Bangladeshi nationals who are citizens by birth, by descent or through naturalization.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is Bangladeshi fugitive, at large since 5 August 2024, a member of the Awami League and one of the key perpetrators of the July massacre orchestrated and executed by Sheikh Hasina's toppled regime. He is wanted by the government of Bangladesh for crimes against humanity during the Student–People's uprising of 2024.

The Bangladesh Secretariat is the administrative headquarters of the Government of Bangladesh, and houses the majority of ministries and government agencies and bodies, located in Segunbagicha, Dhaka. The secretariat can refer to the complex of ministries, or refer to the Bangladesh Civil Service central administration. Its political heads are the ministers while the administrative heads are the Secretaries to the Government. The Secretariat complex was originally constructed as the Secretariat of East Pakistan.

Nisith Pramanik is an Indian politician from West Bengal who has served as the Union Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from 2021 to 2024 and a member of the Lok Sabha represented Cooch Behar, West Bengal from 2021 to 2024 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 2021 until 2021 from Dinhata Assembly constituency. He was a member of the Trinamool Congress until 2019.

Public Security Division is a Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bangladesh. It is responsible for public security and overseas the civilian security agencies of Bangladesh. Jahangir Alam is the current head of the Division and holds the rank of Secretary.
