The Second Hasina ministry was the Government of Bangladesh during the 9th legislative session of the Jatiya Sangsad following the 2008 general election, and serving from 6 January 2009 until 24 January 2014. [1]

The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language, literature and culture, works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955, it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh, Dhaka, within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Supreme Court of Bangladesh</span> Highest court of Bangladesh

Supreme Court of Bangladesh is the highest court of law in Bangladesh. It is composed of the High Court Division and the Appellate Division, and was created by Part VI Chapter I of the Constitution of Bangladesh adopted in 1972. This is also the office of the chief justice, Appellate Division justices, and High Court Division justices of Bangladesh. As of August 2024, there are 6 justices in the Appellate Division and 78 justices in the High Court Division.

Suranjit Sengupta was a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He resigned in 2012 as the first Railway Minister of Bangladesh. He was the member of parliament from Sunamganj-2 constituency in the Jatiya Sangsad and a member of the party's advisory council. He was the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry.

Syed Abul Hossain was a Bangladeshi businessman and politician. He was the managing director and chairman of SAHCO International Ltd. He served as a member of the Bangladesh Parliament for four terms during 1991–1995 and 1996–2014 representing the Madaripur-3 constituency. He served as the minister of information and communication technology (2011–2012), minister of communications (2009–2011) and state minister of local government, rural development and co-operatives (1996–1997).

National Professor is a prestigious teaching award given by the Government of Bangladesh for outstanding contribution in the field of education. It is awarded by the President of Bangladesh according to Bangladesh National Professor Resolution 1981. The awarded persons receive various facilities from the government.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hasan Mahmud (politician)</span> Bangladeshi politician

Hasan Mahmud is a politician from Bangladesh Awami League. He is a former minister of foreign affairs for the fifth Hasina ministry, and a former member of parliament from Chittagong-7. In 2019, he was appointed as the minister of information and broadcasting for the fourth Hasina ministry. Mahmud is accused as one of the perpetrators of the July massacre. He is currently wanted by Bangladesh Police for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the Student–People's uprising of 2024.

National Sports Awards are given by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Bangladesh for specific contributions in the field of games and sports. The award was introduced in 1976. As of 2011, total 175 sports personalities won the award.

The Second Khaleda ministry was the Government of Bangladesh during the 8th legislative session of the Jatiya Sangsad following the 2001 general election. The cabinet took office on 10 October 2001 and left office on 29 October 2006. The Prime Minister and head of the government was Khaleda Zia.

The Ministry of Railways is the ministry responsible for the railways and train services in Bangladesh. It was formed in 2011. Previous rail services were part of the ministry of communication ( dissolved)

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Shamsul Hoque Tuku</span> Bangladeshi politician

Shamsul Hoque Tuku is a politician from the Awami League who has been implicated in a murder case related to his involvement in the July massacre. Tuku served as the deputy speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and was a former Minister of Home Affairs in the second Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government. He was a member of Jatiya Sangsad from 2008 to 2024 from the constituency of Pabna-1.

National Information and Communication Technology Awards is the only state and highest prize in the Information and Communication Technology sector of Bangladesh. The award is being given since 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mostafa Faruk Mohammad</span> Bangladeshi politician

Mostafa Faruque Mohammad was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a member of Jatiya Sangsad representing the Jessore-2 constituency. He served as the Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) during 2012–2014.

A. K. M. Zahirul Hoque is a justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. He has been barred from his role following allegations of irregularities.

The National Coordination Committee Against Corruption and Crime was a short-lived Bangladesh government agency responsible for investigating corruption and crime. It was formed by the Fakhruddin Ahmed led caretaker government during the 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis and was led by Bangladesh Army officers.
