Ministry of Internal Security (Malay : Kementerian Keselamatan Dalam Negeri), abbreviated KKDN, was a Malaysian federal government ministry.

Malay language Austronesian language

Malay is an Austronesian language spoken in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as parts of Thailand. A language of the Malays, it is spoken by 290 million people across the Strait of Malacca, including the coasts of the Malay Peninsula of Malaysia and the eastern coast of Sumatra in Indonesia and has been established as a native language of part of western coastal Sarawak and West Kalimantan in Borneo. It is also used as a trading language in the southern Philippines, including the southern parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Sulu Archipelago and the southern predominantly Muslim-inhabited municipalities of Bataraza and Balabac in Palawan.

Malaysia Federal constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia

Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. The federal constitutional monarchy consists of 13 states and three federal territories, separated by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. History

This ministry was established in March 2004 by dividing the Home Ministry into two ministries, namely Ministry of Internal Security And Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ministry of Home Affairs (Malaysia) government ministry of Malaysia

The Ministry of Home Affairs, abbreviated KDN, MOHA, is a ministry of the Government of Malaysia that is responsible for home affairs: law enforcement, public security, public order, population registry, immigration, foreign workers, management of societies, anti-drug, publication / printing / distribution of printed materials, film control, management of volunteer, rehabilitation and implementation of punishment.

Ministry of Internal Security was led by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and was supported by two Deputy Ministers. Secretary-General (Sec-Gen) KKDN who was aided by two Deputy Secretaries General (Sec-Gen), was responsible for five respective parts presided by a Secretary Part. On the other hand, each Secretary (Management) had eight parts under him/her. Three more departments were directly accountable to Sec-Gen.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Malaysian politician

Tun Haji Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi is a Malaysian politician who served as the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2003 to 2009. He was also the President of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the largest political party in Malaysia, and led the governing Barisan Nasional parliamentary coalition. He is informally known as Pak Lah, Pak meaning 'Uncle', while Lah is taken from his name 'Abdullah'. He is also referred to as the "Father of Human Capital Development".

Royal Malaysia Police

The Royal Malaysia Police, is a (primarily) uniformed federal police force in Malaysia. The force is a centralised organisation. Its headquarters are located at Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. The police force is led by an Inspector-General of Police (IGP) who, as of 4 May 2019, is Abdul Hamid Bador.

Malaysian Prison Department

The Malaysian Prison Department is a department controlled by the Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs responsible for jails where offenders sentenced by the courts are held. These jails also act as detention and recovery institutions.

On 18 March 2008, a new cabinet was announced and the Ministry of Internal Security was again incorporated into the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Cabinet of Malaysia Executive authority of Malaysia

The Cabinet of Malaysia is the executive branch of Malaysia's government. Led by the Prime Minister, the cabinet is a council of ministers who are accountable collectively to the Parliament. According to the Article 43 of the Constitution, members of the Cabinet can only be selected from members of either houses of Parliament. Formally, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong appoints all Ministers on the advice of the Prime Minister. The constitution is amended by repealing the Clause (8) of Article 43, enabling a person who is a member of State Legislative Assembly to continue to be one even when he or she is appointed as a minister or deputy minister in the cabinet. Ministers other than the Prime Minister shall hold office during the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, unless the appointment of any Minister shall have been revoked by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Prime Minister but any Minister may resign his office. In practice, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is obliged to follow the advice of the Prime Minister on the appointment and dismissal of ministers.

Ministry of Home Affairs (India) government ministry of India
