"Miss California" is a song by American singer-songwriter Dante Thomas,featuring American rapper and former Fugees member Pras Michel. It was released on February 20,2001,as the lead single from his debut album,Fly. Despite peaking at number 85 on the US Billboard Hot 100,the track was an international hit,topping the charts of Denmark,Germany,and the Netherlands and becoming a top-five hit in Australia,New Zealand,and several other mainland European countries. "Addictive" features a verse from hip-hop rapper Rakim and is based on a Hindi music sample,which eventually brought on a $500 million lawsuit against Aftermath. It was also a top-five hit in several European countries,achieving gold status in Belgium,France,and Switzerland. The song instrumental was sampled in the Jamaican dancehall beat "Bollywood Riddim".
