Moral Panic is the third studio album by English alternative rock band Nothing but Thieves. The album was released on 23 October 2020 through Sony Music UK. [12] The album was produced by Mike Crossey, with band member Dominic Craik also producing five songs.

Background

The band started composing the songs for the album in the early 2019. [13] Although its release coincided with Covid-19 pandemic and a lot of related anxiety and tension in the society, the idea for the album (including its title and even the first single, Is Everybody Going Crazy?) came prior to that [14] and took inspiration from various social issues in the world.

Release and promotion

Singles

The album was preceded by five singles: lead single "Is Everybody Going Crazy?", released on 18 March 2020; [1] "Real Love Song", released on 23 June 2020, [2] "Unperson", released on 28 August 2020, [3] "Impossible", released on 14 September 2020, and "Phobia", released on 16 October 2020.

Music videos

The music video for "Is Everybody Going Crazy?" premiered on the band's YouTube channel on 25 March 2020. The video was directed by Remi Laudat and co-produced by Juliette Larthe, Chris Murdoch and Yssis McKen. The video features the band in grey rainsuits performing in a dark room with cameras running at various angles and vantage points. On 10 August 2020, "Real Love Song" premiered on the band's YouTube and Vevo channels.

Moral Panic: The Complete Edition

On 29 October 2021, a deluxe version of the album was released comprising the 11 songs from the standard edition with the addition of the five songs from the band's Moral Panic II EP.

Meteora is the second studio album by American rock band Linkin Park, released on March 25, 2003, through Warner Bros. Records, following Reanimation, a collaboration album which featured remixes of songs included on their 2000 debut studio album Hybrid Theory. The album was produced by the band alongside Don Gilmore. The title Meteora is taken from the Greek Orthodox monasteries originally bearing the name. Meteora has a similar sound to Hybrid Theory, as described by critics, and the album took almost a year to be recorded. It marked the first studio credit for drummer Taylor Hawkins, and is often seen as a departure from the band's previous work, showcasing a softer, more experimental sound. Vocalist and guitarist Dave Grohl has called it his favorite Foo Fighters album, stating that it was "totally based on melody" and that the recording process was a serene experience. The album was recorded using only three musicians; Grohl, Hawkins, and bassist Nate Mendel in the basement of Grohl's home in Alexandria, Virginia.

Parachutes is the debut studio album by British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 10 July 2000 by Parlophone in the United Kingdom. The album was produced by the band and British record producer Ken Nelson, except for one track, "High Speed", which was produced by Chris Allison. Parachutes spawned the singles "Shiver", "Yellow", and "Trouble", with a limited European release of "Don't Panic". The album was also supported by the Parachutes Tour, which saw the band performing 131 shows in their first world tour.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is the debut studio album by American pop rock band Panic! at the Disco. Produced by Matt Squire, the album was released on September 27, 2005, through Decaydance and Fueled by Ramen. The group formed in Las Vegas in 2004 and began posting demos online, which caught the attention of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. Wentz signed the group to his own imprint label, Decaydance, without them having ever performed live. It is the only album released during original bassist Brent Wilson's time in the band, but the exact nature of his involvement in the writing and recording process became a source of contention upon his dismissal from the group in mid-2006.

The Best of Keane is the first official compilation album by British group Keane. It was released on 11 November 2013 through Island Records. The album contains all of the singles from the band's first four studio albums, Hopes and Fears, Under the Iron Sea, Perfect Symmetry and Strangeland, plus two new songs: "Higher Than the Sun" and "Won't Be Broken", written during the Strangeland era. Nothing but Thieves are an English rock band, formed in 2012 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. In 2014, they signed to RCA Records and a year later in October 2015, they released their self-titled debut album.
