Ace Attorney is a visual novel adventure video games franchise developed by Capcom. Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a visual novel adventure puzzle video game for the Nintendo 3DS, and was developed by both Capcom and Level-5, the latter publishing it in Japan while Nintendo published it worldwide. The game is a crossover between two game series from both developers, combining the puzzle and exploration elements of Level-5's Professor Layton series, and the general trial mechanics of Capcom's Ace Attorney adventure series, the latter enhanced by the addition of a few new elements, including multiple witnesses, a concept continued with into the prequel series The Great Ace Attorney. Miles Edgeworth, known as Reiji Mitsurugi in original Japanese language versions, is a fictional prosecutor in Ace Attorney, a visual novel adventure video game series created by Japanese company Capcom. Initially introduced as a cold-hearted perfectionist, he appears as the antagonistic rival to main character Phoenix Wright in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (2001). Following the events of the first game, the character has a change of heart and reappears as a friendly rival in most subsequent entries. Dahlia Hawthorne, known in Japanese as Chinami Miyanagi, is a character who appears in the 2004 video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations. She initially appears in a flashback episode as the girlfriend of protagonist Phoenix Wright, who is on trial for murder and defended by rookie defense attorney Mia Fey. She is proven to be the true killer, and Phoenix becomes an attorney at Mia's law office. She is eventually executed for her crimes, but not before her also-incarcerated mother, Morgan Fey, proposed she assist her in a plan to have Maya Fey killed, which Dahlia accepted to get revenge on Mia by having Dahlia's sister, Pearl Fey, channel Dahlia so she may kill Maya.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is a compilation video game containing remasters of the first three games in the Ace Attorney series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (2001), Justice for All (2002), and Trials and Tribulations (2004). A compilation sequel, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, was released in 2024 and compiles the next three mainline games in the series, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice.
