NASCAR 07 is the tenth installment of the EA Sports' NASCAR video game series. It was developed by EA Tiburon for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and by Exient Entertainment for PlayStation Portable. This was the last NASCAR edition to be released exclusively on sixth generation consoles.

The NTSC game cover features Elliott Sadler, driver of the #38 M&M's Ford Fusion. The PAL region game cover features Matt Kenseth's #17 DeWalt Power Tools Ford Fusion. This game is the first since NASCAR 2001 not to include a subtitle in the name. The game retains the teammate features introduced in NASCAR 06: Total Team Control , but does not add any major gameplay changes. However, the graphics include a blurring effect to attempt to give a better sense of high speed, and the pace of the gameplay has been sped up considerably. This is also the second EA Sports NASCAR video game to appear on a handheld system (first NASCAR 2000 for Game Boy Color). On the PlayStation Portable, the game is simply called NASCAR. This was also the only NASCAR game on the PlayStation Portable, and the last NASCAR game on the Xbox.

New features

The game introduces Dynamic Driver Attributes and a Variable Driver Attribute System. By making certain moves while racing the player gains skill points and fills an adrenaline meter which can increase driver attributes, but other moves can decrease skill points and adrenaline. The game also introduced a RaceBreaker feature which allows players to see the holes in the track to help make their way through the pack.

Reception

NASCAR 07 received a mixed response from critics upon release. Metacritic, which assigns a normalized ratings in the 0–100 range, calculated an average score of 72 out of 100, indicating "mixed or average reviews", based on 26 reviews for the Xbox version, [6] 68 out of 100 based on 26 reviews for the PlayStation 2 version, [5] and 66 out of 100 based on 13 reviews for the PSP version. [7] GameRankings assigned it an average score of 71% based on 23 reviews for the Xbox version, [16] 70% based on 23 reviews for the PlayStation 2 version, [17] and 69% based on 13 reviews for the PSP version. SSX on Tour is a snowboarding and skiing game, the fourth title in the SSX series of video games for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PlayStation Portable. It was released in North America on October 11, 2005 and in the PAL region on October 21, 2005. The PlayStation Portable version was released in Europe on October 28, 2005. In 2007, a prequel titled SSX Blur was released, which took place between SSX 3 and SSX on Tour. The GameCube version contains Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach as playable characters. This was part of a deal Nintendo had with EA Sports to have Nintendo's intellectual properties appear in EA franchises.

<i>NASCAR Thunder 2004</i> 2003 video game

NASCAR Thunder 2004 is a racing simulator by EA Sports, released on September 16, 2003 and available in separate versions for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Windows. It features the 2002 champion Tony Stewart on the cover with a scowling look to represent the new Grudges and Alliances feature. It was the only game as of 2002 to feature the previous Winston Cup Champion on the cover. The game had the most extensive soundtrack of the series up from four songs from the previous game. The game also has a career mode, season mode, Lightning Challenge mode, SpeedZone, as well as a tutorial mode featuring Richard Petty. The game is an EA Sports Bio game, and is compatible with other EA Sports Bio games like Madden NFL 2004 and NCAA Football 2004. It is considered by many as the greatest NASCAR game of all time. This was also the last NASCAR game for the PlayStation.

NASCAR Thunder 2003 is the sixth edition of the EA Sports' NASCAR racing simulator series. Developed by EA Tiburon and Budcat Creations and published by EA Sports. It was released for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox on September 18, 2002, and for Microsoft Windows on October 21. The product features Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the cover. It was the first time the NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award recipient was featured on the cover, although he did not win the award for the first time until the following year. Dale Earnhardt appeared in the game as a driver as a result of entering his name as a Create-A-Car driver's name; he did not appear in the previous game due to his death. He appeared as a legend in subsequent games.

<i>NASCAR 06: Total Team Control</i> 2005 video game

NASCAR 06: Total Team Control is the ninth installment of the EA Sports' NASCAR video game series. It was developed by EA Tiburon and released on August 30, 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The NTSC game cover features Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Chevy Monte Carlo and Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe's Home Improvement Chevy Monte Carlo. The PAL region game cover features 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion Kurt Busch in the No. 97 Irwin Industrial Tools Ford Taurus.

It is the fifth game in the EA Sports NASCAR series of video games, and is the first of the series to have a new title. Notably, it is the first NASCAR game to feature alternate paint schemes on the cars. It featured the 2001 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon on its cover and 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte on the disc.

A total of twenty-one games have been released to date, with the series' latest installment, F1 23, released in June 2023.
