Naugachhia Block is a community development block in the Bhagalpur district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is situated in the eastern part of Bihar and is known for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. It lies in the Anga Region of Bihar,India [3] It comes under Naugachhia subdivision.

Geography

Naugachhia Block is located at approximately 25.3°N latitude and 87.8°E longitude. It is bordered by the Ganges river to the south and is surrounded by other administrative divisions of Bhagalpur district including Gopalpur, Ismailpur and Bihpur Blocks. [4]

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, Naugachhia Block has a total population of 154,428 people, with 68.2% of the population residing in rural areas and 31.8% in urban areas. The block comprises several villages and towns, each contributing to its vibrant socio-economic fabric. [5]

Economy

Naugachhia Block's economy is primarily agrarian, with agriculture being the main occupation of the majority of its population. The fertile land along the banks of the Ganges river supports the cultivation of various crops, including rice, wheat, sugarcane, and pulses.The Banana Cultivation is famous in the adjoining areas and the whole Naugachhia Region is known as "Kelanchal".
