Navghar is a small town near Vasai in Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. It is under Navghar-Manickpur municipality.

There is a plan to form Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation by merging the municipalities of Vasai, Navghar-Manickpur, Nala Sopara and Virar.

Virar is a railway station on the Western line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Virar is a terminus station. It is around one and a half hours away by train from Churchgate. Virar is a very crowded area, among other adjacent stations like Vasai Road because it is a major tourist spot of Mumbai. Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation, (VVCMC) is the civic body that governs areas and villages in Vasai-Virar tehsil in Maharashtra state, western India comprising the most populated part of Palghar district. It is an extended suburb of Mumbai. According to the 2011 census, it is the fifth largest city in Maharashtra with a population of more than 1.3 million. The city is located 50 km north of Mumbai, on the north bank of Vasai Creek, part of the estuary of the Ulhas River. It was formed on 3 July 2009 by combining four municipal councils and 53 gram panchayats.

Palghar District is a district in the state of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. On 1 August 2014, the Maharashtra State government announced the formation of the 36th district of Maharashtra, when a new Palghar District was carved out of the old Thane district. The stadium is owned by the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation. The pool was opened in 2013 with qualified trainers and lifeguards. It is the first sporting venue in the area.
