Newark and Sherwood is a local government district in Nottinghamshire, England. It is the largest district by area in the county. The council is based in Newark-on-Trent, the area's largest town. The district also includes the towns of Southwell and Ollerton along with a large rural area containing many villages. Much of the district lies within the ancient Sherwood Forest and there are also extensive forestry plantations in the area.

Sherwood Forest is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2024 by Michelle Welsh, of the Labour Party. The constituency's name is shared with Sherwood Forest, which is in the area.

One third of North Hertfordshire District Council in England is elected each year, followed by one year without election. A boundary review is underway to allow the council to instead be elected all at once every four years from 2024 onwards.

Telford and Wrekin Council elections are held every four years. Telford and Wrekin Council is the local authority for the unitary authority of Telford and Wrekin in the ceremonial county of Shropshire, England. Until 1 April 1998 it was a non-metropolitan district. Since the last boundary changes in 2023, 54 councillors have been elected from 32 wards.

West Lindsey District Council in Lincolnshire, England is elected every four years. Prior to 2011 one third of the council was each year, except in every fourth year when there was an election to the county council instead.

East Hertfordshire District Council is elected every four years.

Selby District Council was the local authority for the district of Selby from 1974 to 2023. It was elected every four years.

Nottinghamshire County Council elections are held every four years. Nottinghamshire County Council is the upper-tier authority for the non-metropolitan county of Nottinghamshire in England. Since the last boundary changes in 2017, 66 county councillors have been elected from 56 electoral divisions.

Stroud District Council in Gloucestershire, England is elected every four years. The all-out elections every four years began in 2016; up to and including the 2015 election one third of the council was elected each year, followed by one year without election.
