The Nicholas Way House (also known as Abishai Way House) at 108 Beaver Road in Edgeworth, Pennsylvania, was built in 1838. This Greek Revival house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 13, 1978, [1] and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2002. [2]

A product of Hellenism, it may be looked upon as the last phase in the development of Neoclassical architecture. The term was first used by Charles Robert Cockerell in a lecture he gave as Professor of Architecture to the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 1842.

Burtner House

Constructed from 1818 to 1821 by Phillip Burtner, along Little Bull Creek, the property was originally a working farm and residence of the Burtner family. Through the years, it served as an election polling station and as the setting for town meetings, including the discussions that lead to the construction of the Pennsylvania Canal. The house served four generations of the Burtner family. Spared from demolition for the construction of Pennsylvania Route 28, the Burtner House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1975. The site is home to an annual strawberry festival in June and an annual harvest festival.

Gardner-Bailey House

The Gardner-Bailey House at 124 West Swissvale Avenue in Edgewood, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, was built in 1864. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 1, 1974, and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1984. The main section of the house has a square floor plan with four rooms on the first floor linked by a central hall, an extensive staircase, and three bedrooms and a bath on the second floor. A large dining room is directly to the rear and followed by a large kitchen with servant's quarters. A detached carriage house with turntable is located at the rear of the property.

Elmridge

Elmridge located at 1 Breck Drive in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, was built in 1869. The architectural plans were published in Hobbs Architecture, 1873. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 10, 2005, and to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2007.
