Nicholas Scott Ure (born June 4, 1999), known professionally as Nicky Youre, is an American singer-songwriter. He is best known for his 2021 single "Sunroof". [1]

Early life and education

Ure played water polo at Aliso Niguel High School, [2] where he participated in the 2016 CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championship Game. [3] After graduating from high school, he continued his water polo career at Golden West College. [4] After earning his associate degree in business and public administration from Golden West, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in international business from the University of California, San Diego.

Career

Ure started making music in 2017 [5] and released his debut single "Sex and Lemonade" on June 4, 2020. [1] "Sex and Lemonade" featured the producer Laiki, an artist who had previously issued the EP Together/Separate, featuring a number of collaborations with Ure. [6]

His second single, "Sunroof", released in December 2021, was described by Sheesh Media as "an immediate ear-worm pop track". [1] This track featured the Los Angeles-based musician and producer Dazy (an artist formerly known as Snocker) and reached the Top 30 in Australia and the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. [7] [8]

In March 2022, the 22-year-old singer released "Never Go Wrong", [9] [10] a single with fellow Californian David Hugo. [11] [12]

Later in November 2022, Ure released "Eyes on You".

In February 2023 he released a new song called "Shut Me Up".

"Lemonade" is a song by American hip hop collective and record label Internet Money and American rappers Gunna and Don Toliver featuring Canadian rapper Nav. It was released as the second single from Internet Money's debut studio album, B4 the Storm, on August 14, 2020. The song was produced by Internet Money producers Taz Taylor, Nick Mira, Alec Wigdahl, E-Trou, and Pharaoh Vice, who all wrote it with the rappers alongside John Mitchell, Jozzy, and Donny Flores. On September 14, 2022, it was included as the sole bonus track on Nav's fourth studio album, Demons Protected by Angels, which was released five days before. The official music video premiered later the same day as the song on Lyrical Lemonade and followed a SpongeBob SquarePants theme. The first remix of the song added a verse from Toliver along with another verse from fellow American rapper Roddy Ricch, omitting Gunna and Nav; this was released on September 30, 2020, and was included on the complete edition of B4 the Storm. The second and final remix, titled the Latin remix, adds Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA to the original song and was released on November 20, 2020.

Tyler James Colon, known professionally as Tai Verdes, is an American singer. He grew up in Southern California where he played guitar, piano, and ukulele. Playing on the basketball team during his attendance at Babson College, he maintained his love for music and eventually dropped out. He was also featured on and won season 6 of Are You the One?. He worked at a phone store during the COVID-19 pandemic, but this still helped further his musical passion and during the same time, he released his breakout single "Stuck in the Middle" in June 2020. The song went viral on TikTok. He responded to his newfound success saying the song "doesn't just turn into a million dollars and a nice car. It turns into waiting-which I think I've gotten pretty good at."

By November 2022, the song had reached the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, and been streamed 397 million times on Spotify. In September 2022, the song topped the Canadian Hot 100. It was the most popular song on TikTok UK in 2022. In September 2024, the song became the 759th with 1 billion streams on Spotify.
