Nine Inch Noize is a collaborative musical project between American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails and German-Iraqi electronic music producer Boys Noize (Alexander Ridha). The project emerged from their collaboration on the Challengers [MIXED], TRON: Ares soundtrack and the subsequent Peel It Back Tour in 2025. [1] [2]
On September 15, 2025, it was announced that Nine Inch Noize will perform at the Coachella 2026. [3]
According to Boys Noize, he and Trent Reznor had previously worked on a secret project that failed to materialize. [4] In 2024, Reznor asked Ridha to do a remix of the Challengers score, which Reznor had worked on. [4] Ridha turned the music into a continues dance remix called Challengers [MIXED]. [4] [2]
Subsequently they collaborated on the TRON: Ares soundtrack, with credits given to Boys Noize for "additional production" and co-production on key tracks like the single As Alive As You Need Me to Be and "Shadow Over Me." [1] [2]
The collaboration emerged as a distinctive segment of Nine Inch Nails' 2025 Peel It Back Tour. [1] The tour featured a five-act structure, with the third act showcasing Nine Inch Noize performing live, EDM-heavy remixes of NIN tracks on a B-stage for 4-5 songs. [5]
The tour kicked off on June 15, 2025, in Dublin at the city's 3Arena. [5]
The end of Boys Noize's opening set on a side stage transitioned directly into Reznor's Act One opening piano song on the B-stage, with Boys Noize kicking off the third act already on the B-stage while Reznor and Atticus Ross transitioned from the main stage to join him. [5]
Songs reworked and performed with Boys Noize included Only, Vessel, The Warning, Branches/Bones, She's Gone Away, Love Is Not Enough, Me, I'm Not, Sin, I Do Not Want This, Closer, and How To Destroy Angels' Parasite. [5]
During the collaborative set, the band debuted a brand new song, "As Alive As You Need Me to Be," which became the first single from the soundtrack for the 2025 film TRON: Ares, co-produced by Boys Noize. [1]
On September 15, 2025, when the Coachella 2026 line up was revealed, it was announced that Nine Inch Noize will perform an extended set. [3]
