Nipholepis is a little-known fungal genus in the order Arthoniales. The genus has not been placed into a family. [1] It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Nipholepis filicina, found in Venezuela. Both the genus and species were described in 1935 by German mycologist Hans Sydow. [2] Nipholepis filicina is an epiphytic fungus, living on the surface of plant leaves. Sydow found the fungus forming minute white flecks on the lower frond surfaces of the fern Diplazium expansum , the upper surface of which was covered in algae, mosses, and lichens. He noted a resemblance to the lichen Myxotheca hypocreoides , [3] a member of the family Arthoniaceae. [4]
Verrucariales is an order of ascomycetous fungi within the subclass Chaetothyriomycetidae of the class Eurotiomycetes. Although most of the Verrucariales are lichenised, the family Sarcopyreniaceae consists of 11 species of lichenicolous (lichen-dwelling) fungi.

Kashiwadia is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Physciaceae. The genus was circumscribed in Sergey Kondratyuk, László Lőkös, and Jae-Seoun Hur in 2014 to contain the species Physcia orientalis, after molecular phylogenetic analysis showed that the taxon occupied an isolated phylogenetic position in the Physciaceae. An additional five species were added to the genus in 2021. The genus name honours Japanese lichenologist Hiroyuki Kashiwadani, who originally described the type species.
Kalbiana is a genus of saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen of uncertain familial placement in the order Verrucariales. Both the genus and its only species, Kalbiana brasiliensis, were described in 1988 by lichenologist Aino Henssen. The genus name honours German lichenologist Klaus Kalb, while the species epithet refers to Brazil, where the lichen is found.
Isalonactis is a monotypic fungal genus in the family Roccellaceae. It contains the single species Isalonactis madagascariensis, a saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen found in Madagascar. Both the genus and species were described as new in 2014 by Damien Ertz, Anders Tehler, Eberhard Fischer, Dorothee Killmann, Tahina Razafindrahaja, and Emmanuël Sérusiaux. The type was collected on the Isalo Massif at an altitude of 851 m (2,792 ft); there, it was found growing on sheltered mesozoic sandstone cliffs. The genus name alludes to both Isalo Massif, the type locality, and the phylogenetic relatedness to genus Lecanactis.
Timdalia is a fungal genus in the family Acarosporaceae. It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species Timdalia intricata, a saxicolous (rock-dwelling), crustose lichen. This species was first formally described by Swedish lichenologist Adolf Hugo Magnusson in 1935, based on a collection made by Eduard Frey in Austria. It was initially classified in the genus Acarospora. Josef Hafellner circumscribed Timdalia to contain the species in 2001. It was initially placed in the family Lecanoraceae, but molecular phylogenetic studies showed Timdalia to belong in the Acarosporaceae. The genus name honours Norwegian lichenologist Einar Timdal.
