"Fast Food Song" is a song made famous by British-based band Fast Food Rockers, although it existed long before they recorded it, as a popular children's playground song. The chorus is based on the Moroccan folk tune "A Ram Sam Sam" and mentions fast food restaurant chains McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut.
"I Belong to You (Il Ritmo della Passione)" (English: "I Belong to You (The Rhythm of Passion)") is a duet by Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti and American singer Anastacia, released as the second single from Ramazzotti's eleventh studio album, Calma apparente (2005), and the third from Anastacia's first greatest hits album, Pieces of a Dream (2005). It was met with commercial success in mainland Europe, particularly Germany, peaking at number one and becoming the ninth-biggest-selling song of 2006. It also topped the singles charts in Italy and Switzerland and peaked within the top five in several other countries.
Texas Lightning is a German quintet from Hamburg which fits in the country music genre and describes itself as old fashioned and hip. Their music is a mix of country and pop drawing from country classic stars like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette and pop stars such as ABBA, Nancy Sinatra, Linda Ronstadt, Madonna, Michael Jackson and the Beatles, performed with some country humour. The band members are Olli Dittrich as Ringofire, Jon Flemming Olsen as The Flame, Markus Schmidt as Fastfinger, Uwe Frenzel as Friendly and Australian Jane Comerford. The band's first performance took place on December 23, 2000, in the music club "Knust" in Hamburg, as Texas Lightning & The Rodeo Rockets, although there have been various changes in the lineup of the band since.
"Hard Rock Hallelujah" is a song by Finnish hard rock band Lordi. It represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, held in Athens, resulting in the country's only ever victory in the contest. It reached the No. 1 spot in Finland and reached the top 10 in eight other European countries. In the United Kingdom, the song peaked at No. 25.
"Mysterious Girl" is the second overall single and third British single from British singer-songwriter Peter Andre's second studio album, Natural (1996). The song was written by Glen Goldsmith, Philip Jackson, Ollie Jacobs and Andre, and produced by Jacobs & Mubs. It features guest vocals from Caribbean rapper Bubbler Ranx. It was first released as a single by Melodian Records in Australia on 14 August 1995 and was issued in the United Kingdom the same year, but it was not until a re-release in 1996 that the song became a commercial success there. The accompanying music video was filmed in Thailand.
"Tell Me Why" is a song produced by Swedish DJs Steve Angello and Axwell under the name "Supermode". The song interpolates two Bronski Beat songs from their album The Age of Consent. The music is sampled from the song "Smalltown Boy", and the lyrics are taken from the song "Why?". The vocals are reconstructed and performed by Hal Ritson. It was used for a Sofology advert in December 2015.
"Shame" is a song by all-female German pop group Monrose, recorded for the band's debut studio album, Temptation (2006). It was written by Christian Ballard, Tim Hawes, Pete Kirtley and Andrew Murray, while joint production was helmed by British production teams Jiant and Snowflakers. Set against a heavy drum pattern and computerized synths sounds, "Shame" is a piano ballad arranged as a mid-tempo with pop and R&B influences. The song's lyrics are about the breakdown of a relationship with a man, with the protagonist blaming her own mistakes, including her ongoing call for independence, for their separation.
Temptation is the debut studio album by German girl band Monrose. It was released by Starwatch Music on 8 December 2006 in German-speaking Europe, following the band's formation on Popstars – Neue Engel braucht das Land, the television talent show's fifth season. Pre-recorded with all six Popstars finalists throughout October and November 2006, the majority of the album was produced by Popstars jury member Dieter Falk. Additional collaborators include Jiant, Jonas Jeberg, Toni Cottura and Mozart & Friends.
Girls in the House is the debut studio album by German girl group Preluders. It was released on 24 November 2003 by Cheyenne Records along with Polydor and Zeitgeist. Entirely co-produced by Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen, and Gena Wernik, the album peaked at number 2 in Germany, number 4 in Switzerland, and number 5 in Austria, eventually receiving a gold certification for more than 100,000 albums sold. The album spawned three singles, including the promotional cover single "Losing My Religion", German number-one single "Everyday Girl", and bilingual "Bal Privé".
"Ein Stern " is a song by Austrian singers DJ Ötzi and Nik P. It was released in February 2007 as the lead single from the album Sternstunden. The song reached number one in Germany, where it stayed for 11 weeks, and in Austria despite that at the time of its release, several popular radio stations in Austria and Germany refused to play the song because its genre did not fit their programme style. The song is Germany's best-selling single of the 2000s decade, and it has sold more than two million copies.
"Sounds Like a Melody" is a song by German band Alphaville, released on May 14, 1984 as the second single from their debut album Forever Young.
"Obsesión" is a song by Dominican-American bachata band Aventura with Judy Santos as the female vocalist. It was included on their second studio album, We Broke the Rules (2002), and an English-language version was made for the same album. The song achieved success in many countries, topping many international charts. In France, the song held the French Singles Chart's number-one slot for seven weeks, and as of August 2014, it was the 19th-best-selling single of the 21st century in France, with 565,000 units sold. A radio remix of the song was added to the 2004 special edition version of Love & Hate, which was exclusively released in Italy.
"The Spirit of the Hawk" is a song by Swedish musical group Rednex released from their second album, Farm Out (2000). The lyrics include the spoken lines "My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no shelter, no food. No one knows where they are. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. I will fight no more.", taken from Chief Joseph's famous speech.
"Everything's Gonna Be Alright" is a song by German-based music group Sweetbox. It was released in October 1997 as the second single from their debut album, Sweetbox (1998), the only album that had American singer Tina Harris as the group's frontwoman. The song is based on "Air" from Johann Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3, played on the track by the German Symphony Orchestra. "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" is the most successful song of Sweetbox worldwide; it reached the top five in Austria, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Outside Europe, the song peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Kuschel Song" is the debut single of German animated rabbit Schnuffel. Originally published by Jamba! as a ringtone, it was turned into a song by Sebastian Nussbaum and Andreas Marek-Wendorf. Released on 8 February 2008, "Kuschel Song" debuted at the top of the German Singles Chart, staying there for eight weeks, and was certified platinum by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) for 300,000 copies sold. After topping the Austrian Singles Chart and reaching number two in Switzerland, the song was released internationally. "Kuschel Song" was later included as the second track on Schnuffel's debut album, Ich hab' Dich lieb, released the same year.
"Mädchen" is a German-language song by German pop rock musical duo Lucilectric, written by members Luci van Org and Goldkind. The track was produced by Annette Humpe and Andreas Herbig and was released as a single in Germany in mid-1993. Although it was not successful initially, the song eventually became a top-10 hit in the Netherlands, after which it charted in several other European countries, reaching number two in Germany and becoming a top-five hit in Austria and Switzerland. The song is certified gold in both Austria and Germany and won an Echo Award for Best National Single in 1995.
"Liebe ist" is a song by German recording artist Nena. It was co-written and produced along by Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen for her 13th studio album, Willst du mit mir gehn (2005). Selected as the album's lead single, it served as the theme song for the Sat.1 telenovela Verliebt in Berlin. Upon its release in February 2005, "Liebe ist" topped the German Singles Chart for two weeks, becoming Nena's second number-one hit, after 1983's "99 Luftballons", and her first chart-topper as a solo artist. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) awarded the song a gold certification for shipping 150,000 units in Germany alone. A remix of "Liebe ist" for American audiences was considered but never surfaced.
"I Still Burn" is a song by German recording artist Tobias Regner, the winner of the third season of the reality television talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar, broadcast in 2006. It was written by Jess Cates and Peter Wright and produced by Brix Ingo Politz, and Bernd Wendlandt, marking the first time, a DSDS coronation song was not produced by judge Dieter Bohlen. Released as Regner's debut single on March 24, 2006 in German-speaking Europe, it became the biggest-selling single in two years to debut at the charts, where it reached number one in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, making him the first DSDS winner to top the charts in all three regions. "I Still Burn" was eventually certified gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) and became Germany's 13th best-selling single of 2006. It was later included on Regner's debut album Straight (2006).
"Es ist geil ein Arschloch zu sein" is the debut single of German singer and Big Brother Germany contestant Christian. Following his brief and controversial tenure on the programme, Christian quit the show and capitalised on his notoriety in Germany to record the track, which was written by Steve van Velvet and produced by Bülent Aris in Hamburg, Germany.
"We Have a Dream" is a song from the first series of German reality talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS). Written and produced by contest judge Dieter Bohlen, the song is performed by the first series' final 10 contestants, who are credited by the programme's name for the single release. The 10 vocalists on the song are Daniel Lopes, Stephanie Brauckmeyer, Daniel Küblböck, Andrea Josten, Vanessa Struhler, Alexander Klaws, Nektarios Bamiatzis, Judith Lefeber, Gracia Baur, and Juliette Schoppmann.
