Bath was platted in 1815. [3] It was named from Bath Township. [4] When New Bath was founded on the railroad in 1903, Bath became Old Bath. [5]

He served as prosecuting attorney, clerk of the circuit court of his county and spent several years in the Indiana Legislature as a member from Franklin County.
