Al-Wathiqu Billah Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah is Sultan of Terengganu, reigning since 1998. He previously reigned as the thirteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the constitutional monarch of Malaysia, from 2006 to 2011.

Tun Ahmad Fairuz bin Sheikh Abdul Halim is a retired Malaysian lawyer who served as the fourth Chief Justice of Malaysia. A controversial figure, he held that position from 2003 to 2006. In August 2006, he courted controversy by suggesting the abolishment of English Common Law to be replaced by Islamic Syariah Law. He retired in November 2006 and was replaced on 2 November 2006 by Abdul Hamid Mohamad as the Chief Justice.

Mohamad Tajol Rosli bin Mohamed Ghazali was the 9th Menteri Besar of Perak from 1999 to 2008. He is also the Member of Parliament of Gerik from 1978 to 1995, the Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for Kenering from 1974 to 1977, 1999 to 2004 and for Pengkalan Hulu from 2004 to 2013.

Tan Sri Nor Mohamed bin Yakcop is a Malaysian politician who served as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, in charge of Economic Planning Unit from 2009 to 2013. He had previously served as Minister of Finance II from 2004 to 2009. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Advisory Council.

Sultanah Nur Zahirah is the current Sultanah of Terengganu. She was the 13th Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia from 2006 to 2011.

Datuk Wan Hisham bin Wan Salleh was a member of Terengganu State Executive Council in Malaysia and holds the State Infrastructure Development, Public Service and Communication Committee portfolio. He is also the chairman of T-Best Events, a State Government owned company which organised Monsoon Cup in Duyong, Terengganu. In Monsoon Cup, he has managed to bring big sponsors to Terengganu namely BMW, RICHARD MILLE, MasterCard, Air Asia, TM, ASTRO and ESPN in supporting the event putting Terengganu on international TV. He informally known as the right hand of the Terengganu Chief Minister, Dato Idris Jusoh as he famously referred him as 'The Man Who Makes Thing Happen' in developing the state after taking over from the previous governing party after the general election in 2004. Apart from the Monsoon Cup success, he also had improved the state transportation system bringing East Coast Expressway connecting Terengganu to the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia cutting the time needed from 9 hours to 3 hours drive from Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. He has also upgraded the airport, providing education programme for the suburban and elderly people on Information Technology, building free houses for the under poverty and recently has brought Terry Thoren to the state to start Animation Development Programme which is expecting to provide 4000 work opportunities in the state every year in animation and 3D industry.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Haji Idris bin Jusoh is a Malaysian politician who served as Chairman of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) from May 2020 to June 2023, the Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Education II in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak from May 2013 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. He also served as the 12th Menteri Besar of Terengganu from March 2004 to March 2008, Member of Parliament (MP) for Besut from May 2013 to November 2022, Member of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jertih from March 2004 to May 2013 and Chairman of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from July 2008 to March 2013. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition.

Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium is a football stadium in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, Malaysia. Together with the adjacent Mini Stadium, it forms the centrepiece of Terengganu Sports Complex. It was used for football matches. The stadium holds 50,000 people and is named after the reigning Terengganu Ruler, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. The biggest stadium in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia, it was built to replace Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium as the state's main stadium.

Tengku Ampuan Hajah Bariah binti Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj was the Tengku Ampuan Besar of Terengganu from 1979 to 1998 as the wife of Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah. She was the sister of the late Sultan of Selangor, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah and the stepmother of the current Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
