The Most Distinguished Order of the Crown of Terengganu (Bahasa Melayu: Darjah Kebesaran Mahkota Terengganu Yang Amat Mulia)[ citation needed ] is an honorific order of the Sultanate of Terengganu.
It was founded by Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin of Terengganu on 19 June 1962.[ citation needed ]

Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Zainal Abidin III Mu’azzam Shah was the fourth Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and the sixteenth Sultan of Terengganu.

He served as the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the constitutional monarch of Malaysia, from 2006 to 2011. He is Malay by ethnicity and an adherent of Sunni Islam.
Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Al-Haj was the 17th Sultan of Terengganu from 21 September 1979 to 14 May 1998.
Sultan Ismail Petra ibni Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra was the 28th Sultan of Kelantan from 30 March 1979 to 13 September 2010. He succeeded on the death of his father, Sultan Yahya Petra. He died in Kota Bharu on 28 September 2019, aged 69, after 10 years of suffering from a major stroke and was buried in the Kelantan Royal Mausoleum. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Sultan Muhammad V who ascended the throne on 13 September 2010.

In August 2006, he courted controversy by suggesting the abolishment of English Common Law to be replaced by Islamic Syariah Law. In September 2007, he was implicated in a 'judicial fixing' scandal. He retired in November 2006 and was replaced on 2 November 2006 by Abdul Hamid Mohamad as the Chief Justice.
